Hoping for a pb.... but....? update... too warm for me:-( slowest half ever
Really pleased, most of my training runs were about 15 miles which seem to have helped on the day.
Not sure why i have entered this after reading the comments on RW but a bloke i work with is in it and its opposite our office so easy to get to.
Well pleased with my time really enjoyed the race.
New PB for me and i missed the last mile marker so had loads left in the legs when i crossed the line!!!
Better by far than I thought it would be and a shiny new, sub 2 pb into the bargain.

Well went , completed and got the medal. Enjoyed this run and glad l got to the end safely not going to beat myself up over the time , just pleased to have taken part.
My race went better than expected. It has been a while since I have been well inside 2 hours so very chuffed.
Mixed feelings about this one. Clearly a run rather than a race and certainly aimed at charity/fun runners. The organisation pre race seemed quite good with runners being separated from spectators early on, good car parking, no queues at baggage drop and lots of free gatorade. The time pens were a good idea, but didn't work. I'm not a particularly fast runner, but I was in a pen with some people who were walking after 500 yrds who'd quite clearly lied (or been incredibly optimistic) on the application form. The mix in the pens meant that the first 3 miles were very congested and, despite being on target, that's when I realised this wasn't a PB race. The course is relatively good, but for an event called "run to the beat" there was actually very little music on the course itself. In the few areas that there was music the atmosphere was amazing, however, at times I found myself almost running in silence. The drinks provided were tiny shot glasses of water that were impossible to drink while running and the 500ml gatorade bottles which were too large really. I don't think I saw a single mile marker on the course, but not a problem as the garmin was doing all that (measured the course as 13.2m). Not a particularly good result for me, but a hot day and generally quite enjoyable once I'd got into the spirit of it all. Good medal and nice finishers bag. An experience, but probably not going to be repeated. Much better from last year given was I've read on RW.

first half marathon, training is slow due to really hot weather, but i'm braving the sun!
so far 10k longest run, will do a 10 mile before end of august, let you guys know how I do.
A pb, very warm, slight change to the course from last year,better organised, very enjoyable

Pace setter for 2 hours. No point betting on me.
Set off a bit fast 6:11 first mile. Either markers were out or pace all over the place. Ran the downhills hard and tried to be strong up them. Ended up with a massive PB!

No training for this race.... Didnt push myself as another Half booked in a few weeks
Loved this race with the music, it was a very hot day which made me stop a few times and not enjoyable running in the heat. The music made up for the weather though.
