Entered this in a bid to get a PB before the year is out! 25 seconds off a PB, oh well, felt pretty good for most of the course and don't think I could have pushed much harder. 40th female (39th last year), but faster time!
Chris 10k
Very cold day in the Fens with fog and frost. Still with no wind. Very flat except 8 to 9km. Went to See Sue and Tony afterwards
EarlyRiser
Tail-end of cold and not wanting to be here. Started ok, but couldn't push pace mid-way. Struggled over the last 3k. Even so, new PB by 48 seconds, don't know where that came from.
Mrs Jigs (Luverlylegs)
Lovely well organised race which I very much enjoyed running.
Simontr
0fficial time - garmin 49:02
BlueWombat
not so good - think I am going soft!
Girlie
Think I just might consider racing this and attempting to go out of 2008 with another pb?
I'm mainly goign for the vibe and to have a few laffs going round, so a PB would be a lovely bonus:-)

***UPDATE*** A fab race and excellent result:-) a 31 sec PB, really enjoyed this race again and another PB bonus:-)

And my highest ever WAVA score:-)
CanaryYellow
Trained specifically for this following an 8 week training programme. Havent run under 54 minutes since October 07.
Ted
Official and dry heaved through the finish again ;)

Why couldn't the 'ficcial time have been 1 more second quicker ;)
Mrs Gandhi
Started at the back alongside Lord Fetch and dog and started slowly but got quicker overtaking loads on the way. Fastest 10K so well pleased. Lovely to see Mr & Mrs Jigs, Mile Muncher, Canary Yellow and Kough Kandi and DR Bob and Bus Pass. Great Atmosphere
green-40
First race back from breaking ankle in July, just want to get around and get the bug back for 2009
KoughKandi
Entered. *POST RACE Sorry to everyone who bet on me, I only managed a 10 second PB due to cough. (See last 2 blogs).
april_runner
It would be nice to see a drop in my 10K time after the great improvements I have seen in my half time - I've been ill with a cold this past week but am recovering quickly and at least I have fresh legs. *update* Not quite as quick as I believe I am capable, but still a very good run. Feel over last week's cold but still coughed and spluttered a little - don't think this really affected my running though. Third lady and a sub-39 10K PB, woohoo!
GettingThere
Very enjoyable run in the fog
Slowly But Shirley
PW time down to pretty much an equal combination of Christmas excess and painful left calf which I had to keep stopping/walking through in order just to complete this 10k!

Otherwise - great course and nice atmosphere. Glad I did it .... and didn't give in to the urge to drop out in the early stages! For 2009 I aim to get back on track again. Will do this race again and hopefully pain-free!
Marts
haven't decided whether to try for a comfortable 37:30 or a mid 36 time. did 20M 3days before and will see what that's done to my legs. UPDATE Awesome. well chuffed especially 3 days after 20miler. 2nd fastest 10k ever and fastest for 14 and a half years. Felt really quite comfortable although obviously working hard. Great to catch up with No 8 and Lyra and also meet LOTL. Passed 2000miles for year on warm down with swerver, don ron,wj bullet, mrs c and mandypants
Jobe
This will be a social run for me - will start thinking of PB's again next year.

Update - paced Drell around to meet her goal of under an hour.
Hedda
I'm ok with that. Excuses for not doing better include a dodgy left foot and no running but lots of eating over Christmas.
shop girl jules
I have never ran this race before so will make nice change to do something different, plus it,ll be last race of 2008 so will try and run my hardest to get good time to end the year on........
Lincsfella
No where near where i should be time wise but it'll come back. Its a nice race, does what it says on the tin.
Foxster
Best do some sort of excercise before the alchohol induced evening :)
ZoStockdale
I got under the hour!!! Woo!! :-)
IBB,MBGOG
Was looking dodgy for doing this, but back out this morning after ~2 weeks off with v painful heel. As long as it doesn't flare up this evening, pretty optimistic I'll make the start.
Ruth2
Ankle still not right from june, but hey if it held up for a slow half
DrBob
not going to be fast this year, but I'll have a go and try to beat last year's time at least

Ran as expected, really hard work at times and there was a troubling voice in my head saying "stop and have a walk" Hamstring got a bit sore near the end which works for me as a small excuse...Having said that, couldn''t have gone a lot quicker today.
Good race, plan to be back there next year, hopefully faster!
swerver
It will be my first 10k race and last race of 2008, going to enjoy. (hopefully)
Blotts Mate
Garmin time. Steady run, felt comfortable throughout. Very satisfied with time:)
Jiffy
Nice flat (ish) course, a pb (sorry geoff) so pretty pleased!
Drell
Fantastic! and many many thanks to Jobe and Old Man for their wonderful pacing, and Jobe for her excellent advice
Grumpy Galloper
I was thinking coming up to November that getting at least close to 40 minutes was going to be possible. However what with work and having to travel a little bit more than usual and then some family commitments it never really happened. In fact a spate of Ghandi,s revenge over Christmas almost meant I never made the start line so the time I did get was quite pleasing.
thorneygeoff
Well done Jiffy - you deserved it. Regarding the race, 520 turning up out of 700 entries is very sad and shows that online early entry at this time of the year means that a quarter of people lost their money and also lots of people that would like to have run could have done so with a better system - this problem needs addressing!
JKC Norfolk
Great run.
