struggled with head cold for days before so probably should have stayed home, but glad i ran in the end. good race and atmosphere again.
Pish! Sore left knee...hurting on downhills. Would have chucked it if I didn't need to finish to have a chance of completing club championship. Head not really in it at all. Dumbarton WILL be a vast improvement!
Not in great shape right now but hoping for sub 43. Post race: ok really really not in good shape lol. 1st half in 21.30 but just got slower and slower. Hot, dehydrated and unfit. Never mind.
New PB for 10k ...over the moon
good night for running - especially with the support of fellow fetchie and mentor Shannon on the course. Set off a bit quicker than the previous races that week where I was negative splitting and it paid off with a big PB. Covered the first 5km in 18:55 and the second in 19:22. Felt fresh throughout but still feel i can go quicker with a bit of effort. good turnout from fellow garscube harriers too both spectating and on the course.
ran @ target pace for first 2km then started to struggle. 16.49@ halfway then 17.24 second half.Hopefully will get back to sub 34mins @ Dumbarton next week
hoping to run ok...getting back into shape so shall be a benchmark of where my fitness is!!!!fast course...felt very tired not much in legs got round even the downhills felt an effort overall happy to get near 40 mins considering lack of training and sleep deprivation...wee ones had a good night out eating breadsticks and watching race with daddy magoo: )
Started well enough with 5.32 and 5.35 miles, but got stuck too far back at the start and may have pushed too hard in the later part of the first mile to make target. Let it slip with a 5.41 which was ok because it included the twisty bits and the hill. Through 5k in 17.27 then seemed to bottle it with a 10mile/hm paced next 3 in 5.50 5.51 6.05 and finally the extra bit in 5.35 pace. Second 5k in 18.23. Warm and muggy but heat doesn't usually bother me just needed to dig in more in the 4th mile and I'd have been fine. Didn't like the new path surface too slippy.
That's more like it!
