Bit hacked off with time today ,dont really know what went wrong .Not a day to remmember ..... However well done to Richie C for breaking the 80 mins thats a great effort ,and also Boab for winning another great effort
A PB by nearly 10 minutes
finally got my chip time
really good day and great route along by the sea, just a shame i didn't look at my watch just before the end to sprint to a sub 2hr but overall pleased how it went
ARGHHHHHHHH, bloody achilles. I ended up walking teh last 4 miles sllllllooooooowwwwwlllllyyy
Not up to speed with training to go for a PB, I'll leave that for GSR. So a leisurely run along the windy coast will be on the cards instead!
PB and sub 2
Fantastic race as i got a new PB
Chip time. Cracking weather, and not much wind until the turn at mile 10 (even that wasn't too bad). Legs felt great until mile 7, but then got heavier and heavier. Was abit worried that I wouldn't make the Alloa time but managed to dig in at the end to get 1min under. Great to see loads of fetchies as ever.
1.19.48 (17th of about 2500) Absolutely over the moon to break 80mins for the first time.
run time in line with my the training that i did for this event, knee injury a few days earlier put me doing this race in doubt but i managed tp run it and can't really blame my worst 1/2 marathon time on my knee.
Depends on the direction of the wind, and the strength of the "hard stuff" the night before.
Last 3 Miles quite tough into the wind but overall weather and day great!!!
My first race over 10k, and I really enjoyed it. The run itself, that is - the organisation off the course was very poor, especially with regard to the timing chips (took them 4 days to get me a result at all).
What a brilliant day to go sub 1;30, Well organised,superb flat course and ideal weather conditions.
Watch time, so hopefully a couple of seconds quicker. Tough race but pleased with time
New course for me not done before, liked the race, road marshalls, mile posts, drinks stations and volenteers,weather, fancy dress costumes brought a smile to my face, i just knew the sun would be out. Hated the sore hip playing gip, the end where the massive que's congregated and they could have been a lot better organised, worst exeperience yet at the finish out of 13 half marathons run. They could have sent out the numbers and chips beforehand, given us a plastic bag to put our goodies in, i kept dropping mine with sheer exhaustion.
Was a bit knackered after the Dubar 10K on Saturday and Died in the Sun on the first half and was actually close to jacking it in by Musselburgh but my life saving girlfriend was on hand to give me a hat and after that belted through the second half to beat my PB by a few seconds. well done to Andydgg for his PB and hats off to RichyC who was absolutly flying the other way as I came up to the turn and also a special mention to my pal Jaque Ramsay who slashed an incredible 13 minutes of her PB to take 5th place in the womans categroy in 1:25 Well done lass!.
pleased to get under 1:20, will hopefully give me confidence for London marathon
Forgot my watch but my time is somewhere between 1:40 and 1:45. Been asleep all afternoon!!! **UPDATE** Not one of my beter races
Got a cut from race chip at about 5miles. Had to stop. Also walked through every water station.
Ran this as a warm up race for the Lochaber Marathon and the main purpose was to try and run 8min mile pace all the way. We did that and it was very comfortable and enjoyable. We should do it this way more often!
First ever half. Great breeze along porty prom kept things cool on a sunny day. Loved it although bit of a ffaff at start tho.Organisation could have been better
