Really really pleased with the time. 5k splits were 17.35 17.39
Updated chip time 35.12
Will be looking just to get round here. Seriously lacking in race practice after long term injuries.
UPDATE! Bettered my prediction by nearly 8 minutes! Not had the chance to train adequately for this. Enjoyed the experience though. Thanks to littleimp for helping me round!
After worrying about the high winds and heavy rain for 2 days, Lincoln finally got it right and booked awesome weather and (nearly) got off on time... 5 mins late. Well supported this year (nearly 5000 runners), and an enthusiastic crowd cheered pretty much the whole way round.Very close to my prediction and 1min51 slashed off PB. Am a little disappointed not to break 39mins as I also set a 5K PB on the way (19:02) but it looks good for later in the year. Thanks to those who bet on me, enjoy your winnings.
Ran with workmates in memory of Mark Hennel and in aid of the cancer ward who cared for him
do this one all down hill!!!!
That Damned Bloke
did the race with a buddy who is recovering from a knee injury.
knew i could have run faster, but didnt wanna leave him behind...
you know how it is....
Well chuffed with that time, kept grinding out 4:30 kilometres throughout to dip under 45 minutes.
Great day for running, big crowds and we started on time - marvellous!
knocked 10mins off last years time, but gutted I did'nt get under 60mins
Chip time better than watch time. An unexpected PB. All good.
Don't bet! Haven't run for weeks, might get a couple of weeks worth of runs in before, but that will be it. I'm going to do it, but it will be slow... anything under 1hr 15min will be brilliant.
Over the moon with time. considering how little training I've done I couldn't have asked for better. Just need to get some miles in, and I reckon my 10k pb will be under threat.
Really enjoyed this, not done it before. Great weather and a good atmosphere too. Flat route which always appeals to me. Wasn't going for a time as my winter training has not been as good as it should have been so was pleased to do it in the hour.
I believe this is a flat 10k. I am hoping to find out what I am capable of for this distance, probably 36 - 38 minutes, But will have more idea after tomorrow's Desford 10k. Oops sore calf and then a bit of stitch, the weather was great, shame that my body fell apart slightly.
Purple Green Imp
Excellent weather on the day and always an enjoyable occasion. Unfortunately despite really stepping up the training during the winter I wasn't feeling up to it on the day and ended up well short of the time I hoped for.
Lovely route - lots of support and perfect conditions. Wish I had been in peak fitness. One to remember for 2010.
Sunny day, good race, felt good
An improvement, can't ask for more than that
