DaveH Last minute entry through work, I guess I'm about to find out how little fitness I've retained from March 2007.

UPDATE - Ohmagod, that somehow went stupidly, stupidly, stupidly well. Couldn't hold on at sixes into the headwind in the last two miles and lost 37s but really pleased. Unaffiliated 1:00:35 1:00:35 1:05:00 1:00:35 72.21

Blister A PB, true, but I wasn't happy with my run, pacing was so bad (didn't help that I blew up by 4 miles) and time was a good 2 mins slower than what I'm capable of. Will blog about it later. TeamBath AC, Somer AC, Walton AC 1:02:45 1:02:45 1:02:59 1:02:45 69.72

SuperSooks PB by nearly 5 minutes... Hooray :-), slowed quite a lot in the 9th mile and started to feel sick around the same point, so I am pleased to sneak under 66 mins. Conditions were much better than anticipated and the rain stopped and wind eased during the race. The random start zone allocation A-C ( I was given C) was not a big deal in the end as it was easy for me to hop into the A section, so did not get held up at the start. Great atmosphere as always and nice t-shirt and medal. Winchester & District AC 1:05:46 1:05:50 1:05:59 1:05:51 74.67
WineRunner52 Prediction is only good if there is no head-wind for the last 2+ miles!! UPDATE Pleased with time - wet before start and after 6miles - very warm too. GAZGIB Ran a strange race; went off way too quick and did a 7:43 for mile 1, eased back and enjoyed the docks. Then felt terrible and whilst regretting an early morning bacon roll I desperately searched out a portaloo. Found 1 at five and half and felt much better afterwards. At 7mile it felt like I had a needle sticking in my hamstring, so I eased off a a bit, but enjoyed the last 2 miles down the front and felt great afterwards as all the marathon training seems to have paid off. Slimster Determined to break into the sub 70 zone....update: zig zagged through the crowd for 1st mile (6.57) 2nd mile much quicker in 6.25, 5k 21.14, & then felt the Paula urge and needed a pit stop, 1st time ever whilst running I felt the need, passed 5miles in 34.58, still on track, but felt a stitch in my right side, and a lovely blister building under my right foot, then 8 miles in felt the outer muscle of my left knee burning away, still pushed on, I will be back next year, for the sub 70, still PB'd on last years time inclusive of my mishaps....

Konaboy Wet again but not as windy as in previous two years. Got caught near back of orange wave & had to work hard through the congestion. Met Marvis & Monkey Harris at 4miles then pushed on. Felt good through 6 then thought about gel but didn't bother thru water at 7. Suprised at lack of headwind along Southsea I got a 2nd wind over last 2miles. Defo could go at least a min to two quicker in a less congested race. All in all quite pleased but will give it a miss next year. Reading Roadrunners 1:14:07 1:14:07 1:15:00 1:14:07 61.99

Cormorant It always seems to rain here and the damp spectators were eerily quiet as they absorbed the shock news of 'Arry's defection. I didn't give them much to cheer, nearly bailing out at 3 miles and then again at 7, but was pleased with this. We saw Paula and the elite women's start too and she should be given a knighthood or something without delay. Thanks to all the volunteers who turned out in the rain to give out drinks and goody bags and remove chips. JohnJ said foil blanket was in my bag, I am sure I must have looked blank, as I did not understand him at all. Thanks John.
