Much improved organisation than the shambles of 2006 when I last ran this...marshalls were terrific. Ran this at marathon race...legs could probably have carried on for another 4 or 5 miles and was very comfortable from a cardio point of view.
I love this race, hard and horrible but a real acheivemnt. hope to better my time of 2 years ago, well you can always live in hope!!

Set out a bit quick and was caught out by the hills AGAIN. 1:12 off pb for this course.
Totally not fit to run. I will be out there marshalling out there somewhere
Currently back on the road to fitness - my half time should be in a position to go!!! 8 weeks of good training behind me, definitely worth a punt!!! Great run - finished 20th!!! The hills slowed me a little - but not as much as the others! Went through half way in 39.40 - 2nd half with the big hill slowed me down, but then ran 18.40 final 5k! Well pleased!!!
Nice race. Good to meet ScoobyDan and ShinTwigs, and a real fillip to see monkex's Fetch shirt spread out at the top of the first climb. Oh, and an incey wincey bit chuffed with a big PB.

I'm treating this as a slow training run following my hernia op on 6/2/09.
slow start but picked up the pace on the many downhill sections in the first 5/6 miles. Just after half way is the long hill into fordcome run pace dropped considerably during mile 7 & 8. kept a steady pace from top of hill to mile 10 at the end of the last hill. Picked up the pace from here but started to feel washed out after mile 11, needed sugar. fast pace to the finish bu not as fast as i would have liked. left myself too much to do to break the 1:50:00 mark.. good race though!
I'm not in full fitness after couple of months no running after Lochness Marathon and just started traing in dec 2nd week with many niggles. Would be happy if i can achieve my predicted time.
Am begining to really warm to this race ..Its a deceptivly easy first half but if you over run it you get clobbered on the hill at half way and its still one of the toughest halfs ive done.Well happy with my time today, knocked about two minutes of my PB and 7.5 off my time from last year
very well organsied although a few Kamikazi Cyclists and cars on route!!! The hill is still a toughy and knocks the wind out your sails. Will hopefully be back down for this next year though as its creeping up the list of my favourate races!
Well organised race. Excellent weather. Good scenery. Pockets of support in places. Great medal. Fast publication of finishing times. Everything is relative but I managed a PB which I was not expecting. Although Spring Hill is tough the downhill approach to it keeps you ticking along before the uphill drudge. Quite happy.
I have a tendency to go off far too quickly and was determined not to do the same again. Was bang on 8 min mile pace for the first 5 miles which i was happy with though kept hearing other runners talking about the dreaded Spring Hill and wondered how i'd fare.
I needn't have worried. Although my pace significantly dropped, I was pleasantly surprised to find that i had plenty left in the tank after passing the crest of the hill (and lots of angry motorists!). I allowed myself half a mile to catch my breath and then returned to 8 min mile pace.
I usually struggle in the last 3 miles, but to be honest other than mile 10-11 I felt strong all the way round.
Came home in 1.46.31 - a PB by over 10 minutes!
Did this last year on my way back to fitness in 1hr 32mins,quite abit fitter so i'll set myself a challenging target of 1;25....
Achieved target,had to hang in there,tough course and it dont get any easier!Pleased...
didn't think i would get a pb given the hills, so really pleased. now have to run faster at paddock wood in april!
certainly felt drained afterwards, probably because my training hasn't been that good.
