Fantastic day out
Fantastic event as always.
Shaved 35 minutes off my time from last year. Seemed a tougher course too!
The marshalls are to be congratulated - they were all cheerful, encouraging even those in the most exposed positions!
What an experience. One to remember
Such a mad race but great fun
Too Much Water
heard so much about it - can't wait!
Had a sneaky feeling this was going to be a toughie and lived up to all my expectations. started off slow and steady then slowed even more on the first hill. the bog was entertaining (got stuck 4 times - thanks to the guy behind me who hauled me out). strangely, i actually enjoyed running on the shingle beaches (at least it made a nice change from the near vertical hills). am already looking forward to next year!!!!
Missed it last year due to illness, so thought I'd try again!
Disappointed not to go under 5 hours, but felt that I finished strongly. All good London training.
Managed to break the 3 hour mark for this - just.
It was an absolute killer, just when I thought I had everything under control at about mile 15 they send on for a mile on the beach and then up a huge cliff which nearly finished me off.
I reckon this pretty much equates to a full marathon on the flat. Unbelievably tough.
absolute hoot of a run.reallycold especialythrough the water but had a blast.first time i have run this run and did not know what to expect but another long run on the legs hence the time mainly used as a training run.
Half way mark was on for a 3 and half hour race, quad cramp at around mile 16 and never really recovered.
Shortly arfter pneuma thorax - 2 weeks. Should not have run!! Innov-8 roclites rock. Seal skin socks the best idea of all to run in waterproof socks. Hill training and stamina work a must. Road shoes a no no. Great T shirt. Loved the fire hose at the end. Treat like a marathon in terms of duration and race stratergy.
Wont miss one again - until I am running Ultras!!!!
