Ex-pat Scot
Massive PB- down from 1:29:40 to 1:24:05

What a difference a year of training makes...
TooLilac
ran this last year in 2hr 19mins, with a hip injury.
OMG ! somehow managed a PB. I blame Jameaters - he promised 10 min miles and then had me struggling to keep up with 9.20mm ! once he'd disappeared I tried to maintain the pace and surprisingly did !! Left foot is a mess of blisters, ouch ! Great to see so many fetchies, ones I already knew and some I'd only heard of on the forum.... Lots of PBs today, twas great :) :)
McGoohan
I'm going for a PB, provided a) I get an entry, b) I'm not ill, c) the weather holds up
*UPDATE* I "am" ill again :-( The PB attempt is off. :-( BM itself may well be off. :-( Even going to Yorkshire may be off :-(

Sorry to those who bet on me already :-(
*Another update* Well, I was okay on the day but I didn't PB. Great race though.
suzeedee
Pb by over18 mins!!!!
Haddi :-)
this will be my first time, and SOD i will be right on you shoulder :)*update, this will be my longest run since september and will be a good test of post injury recovery plan * well chuffed with time :-)
sugs
Yep I'm in. Now the work starts. havent raced properly since my marathon, so really hoping for a PB on this course but will have to wait and see.

Didnt do well at all yet again. My times have really risen since the Marathon. need to re-think my training. Good race though, engoyed the second half.
RununMan
Cheq cashed so im doing it for the first time. Hope i'll be in good shape and really looking forward to it. UPDATE: Very happy!!! Good fast course (a little windy at times) and very well organised. Really enjoyed it as i didnt expect to run that well. Back pack is brill and post race massage was very nice ;¬)
santababy
omg
Yorkshire Pie
Cheque safely cashed! I've PBd here before, but this time I'll be on holiday for 2 weeks, flying in from Spain on Monday night, doing 4 days of work, getting very drunk on Friday night and then trying to survive on Sunday. We'll see... I think it's very unlikely to be a PB, but you never know!
Lisrun
My third time for this one. Hope its not windy ! :-) *Update* Wow, where did that come from ?? Missed out on a pb by 6 seconds, but that is no problem, its just great to be back in that sort of form again :-) Perfect conditions, only a little wind and mild. Very, very happy with how it went today :-)
Marts
Well please with 38s PB. 33rd/1280. Will do more notes later but met loads of fab/funny/lovely/pi$$ed fetchies in the pub afterwards:) (())
northernslowcoach
woohoo - cheque cashed *update* well pleased with that time as distinct lack of training!
Jameaters
Heard it's flat so looking for a PB
Update - not been too well for last 3/4 weeks so very little training - will still take part but time will be slower
Unbelievable - managed a PB despite the lack of training
philbo
* Gun Time * Yeeeees 1st time under 2hrs for a half , 11mins off my best too . well over the moon , I wasn't sure I could keep the pace up all the way round , but managed to run the second half of the race in negative splits !! , well done to the two Fetchies in Bishopthorpe , not sure about your singing voices like !!!! :-0
frangale
Mega thanks to NSC for running with me and making sure I got that PB :) Great to meet so many Fetchies :)
Slowly But Shirley
I'm in! Can't wait!
Velo Boy
PB. And feeling quite ill; nausea all through the race. Vomitted at the end. Nice. Brilliant race, well organised and supported. Pleasant surroundings. Weather also very good - although cold. Would recommend, but keep it a secret as it was sold out!
SODDING HILLS
I finally got my finger out this year to go back under 2hrs at Bridlington in 1.47. Not done much training, too many races in last Q of 2008. Will see how it goes 1st half of race then kick-on. Anything around 1.50 would be great. Need to be back in Sheffield at pub for 1.30pm' ish, that is also motivating me for a good time.
Ha! Ha!
very strong today.my quickest miles were the last 3 which says it all..
well happy..
FRU (KeepTheFaith)
PW - Ashamed of state of self weight wise and therefore time - positives: Negative head battles always good for mara practice, adopt Tortoise approach and only concentrate on own agenda (to run it all), self belief (as training hit and miss before the race due to flu), emotional baggage must be dropped before a race or at least within the first 4-5miles!!!!!
Darlo
13 min PB good run very happy
Northern Exile
Training has been going OK of late and the Thirsk 10 was useful indicator. If the weather is favourable, I think I stand a chance of getting under 1:38
Punkbilly
58 secs outside PB but pleased considering I have been full of cold all week& still coughing up loads of phlegm (nice).
Bunny Phobia
This was my first ever half marathon in 2004. Now, in 2009, it'll be my tenth :) I'll be having a small party all the way round. I've put 1.38, but I'd love to beat the pb. Will depend on christmas training, I suppose. And the hockey match I'm playin the day before.....
[post race] Very pleased with my time.Felt pretty comfortable all the way round, and think that with more tempo runs (which I introduced quite late into my training) I might be able to eek closer to 90 mins. Lovely race.
Rob
Rubbish, rubbish, rubbish. My worst time for a long time. Not suprising really as I have hardly been out running lately and haven't run at all for 2 weeks. I didn't want to do this race as the day approached; on the morning I was still in bed at 08:15 thinking of excuses not to go. In hindsight I should have pulled the duvet over my head.

Oh well. I'll just put this one down to experience and consider it a training run.
james6161
back from injury, settle for a comfortable run
mikep
Happy with this which was my first event since September. Ankle held up well. Good to see so many Fetch shirts - wish I had worn mine.
dippycat
I was injured and had to wear a knee support when I ran this. I was still pleased with my pb though and there is always another time.
Pod
Part of my Paris Marathon training schedule. First time running this course .
Really good fast course. Thank you marshals for cheering us on. Very well organised race. Goody bag - very much appreciated!!
jacko
just using this event as a 13.1 mile marathon pace ( 6.50mm) run . in preparation for london so need to be disiplined and not go off to fast try and maintain pace all way round.*** update*** excellent run pace spot on recovered very quick good base to build from now for london
Chromey
Injured :( Maybe I shouldn't have carried on.
stuart little
Pacing a clubmate to 1:25
Ange11
I was really pleased with my time-new pb! Although I think I went too fast for the first 7 miles coz after that my quads felt really sore and it was astruggle to keep going. Going to try and get my pace right for the wilmslow half.

Me, my twin sistser and another running club member/friend won the team prize for Stainland Lions RC!

northernrunner
good flat course, could probably have beat my pb had i not done so much yesterday but happy enough with finishing 28th out of over 1200 people.
LP
Pb by 7 minutes, but wilted at the end after running a bit too quickly at the beginning.
swittle
great conditions. felt strong.
mudlark2
Pb - by 5 and a half minutes
Slider45
Time by chip - standing in for a friend so didn't have the preparation I would have liked. However, can't complain and got a pb. Didn't quite have the strength in my legs to kicked on as I would have liked. Nice bag.
tooslow
Good run nice and even paced cold and breezy conditions but not too bad
rupert tb
Good strong run, but no PB ...
