This event is listed on these dates:
garmin time 1hr 38min 24secs ! New PB for me....
Not sure what to expect but looks like a popular race.
Was carrying a cold and found the hills very very tough
I was very pleased with this time given a tough course and warm conditions.
Didn't get going as well as I hoped for this race. The weather was very warm and seemed to sap my energy. Really hoped for a PB but just didn't work out.
I am pacing this one for RW, so i expect to finish in between 1.29.30 and 1.30.00.
Never EVER say definate PB! Tough course, hot weather, just back from a lay off and stomach cramp from mile 3. Over confident. Humble pie eaten! Prat!
*chip time* Hot, with hills..ran well up the hills but possibly too well as had not a lot left at the end!!!!
Seem to be getting sloweer and slower!!
A really hard yet enjoyable race!!
unofficial race time so far! forgot to turn off my garmin for a bit after I finished! hot day
Team came 4th, which is ace. My body will never forgive me though. Stupid idea to have raced this with no training. Still feeling like a busted bum!
I was one of the unlucky few whose chip times were not recorded, for some reason. But I think my actual race time was pretty much 1:33 spot on.
For future reference: The two days before this race, I drank less alcohol and more water. The night before, I went out to eat and had a huge dinner of BBQ spare ribs and chips. In the morning I had a bacon bap 2 hours before race start.
Very warm. Hills just get harder!
Had hoped for a pb but not too disapointed as I got close on a tough course, pleased that I was going well last few miles. Lovely day. Great support around the course. My first time running this event will def be back, brilliant race.
Hilly route but Greenwich sessions paid off. Took it steady uphill and made up a lot of ground by flying down the downhills. Managed a sub-9:00 min. mile on one of them which is fast for me. Paying for it now though as I have one slightly dodgy toenail and v. heavy legs. Last 3 miles were pretty tough even though they were flat.
Nice atmosphere and good crowd support.
Optimistic prediction for a 65% WAVA. Have to get there some day but can't promise this will be it.
This was a hilly race, I was running ok, and on target but run out of steam on the home straight (3 miles) and had to walk some. However, not a bad run considering
4th half marathon in 22 days.** Ran easy up the hills to half way and gradually wound it up - felt great along the sea front. Legs felt tired all the way though and a bit too hot for my liking**
4th time - each time have beaten pb hope to do it again this year!
Tough and hilly! The heat made it tougher!
Tough but great run and will be back next year. Not to sure about the 2 miles up hill from the 3 mile mark.
how do you run 9 miles uphill and only 2 miles downhill to end up in same place?!!!! God, I thought I was going to die!
A training run. Took Ian round. He was hoping for 1:45. Running for Demelza. Ian struggled with Queensway.
Will race it next year
Pulled up with just over a mile to go with a stitch. A first for me!
