tricialitt well, it was hot, not totally flat, and I walked much of the last 4 miles, but a new PB, so mustn't grumble............ Unaffiliated 3:55:13 3:56:48 4:00:00 3:56:48 59.67
DCB The heat was just too much, things began to go wrong from about 10 miles, turned at about 1:40 and struggled home! Sorry to those that bet on me. Cheddar Running Club 3:13:29 3:20:11 3:20:00 3:48:05 56.76

Yano Hot day. Averaged 8s for the first half but 8.40s for the 2nd half! Felt strong throughout and got 'faster' in last few miles but was too slow from 13 - 20 miles. Missed a PB by 1-2mins but overall very pleased with the run. Unaffiliated 3:22:31 3:38:44 3:29:00 3:38:44 56.07

karinsmiles Dreadful, dreadful race. Felt really warm and did every stupid thing before and during the race it was possible to do (not enough taper, too much walking on the Saturday then ran without a watch and I think I probably started too fast, bonked out and then felt too sick to take more gels). purephase gutted with the time, over 25 minutes slower than last year. stomach cramps after 15 miles, leg cramps after 18 miles which got so bad my legs refused to run any more just after 22 miles so the end of the race was walked. actually having to walk is more disapointing than the time. i think there are a lot of factors which contributed to the time, i ran the first half at nine minute mile pace, much slower than my recent half marathon PB, but even the first half felt quite hard and running at that speed should have been easy. oh well i will have to analyse what went wrong when i get over the disapointment and learn from it for next time.
