Hi ,
It looks like you're using an ad blocker.

The revenue generated from the adverts on the site is a critical part of our funding - and it's because of these ads that I can offer the site for free. But using the site for free AND blocking the ads doesn't feel like a great thing to do, which is why this box is so large and inconvenient. Some sites will completely block your access, but I'm not doing that - I'm appealing to your good nature instead. Did you know that you can allow ads for specific sites, whilst still blocking them on others?

Thanks,
Ian Williams aka Fetch

The heat was just too much, things began to go wrong from about 10 miles, turned at about 1:40 and struggled home! Sorry to those that bet on me.

finished!!! a bit warm and sunny for my liking.
tricialitt
well, it was hot, not totally flat, and I walked much of the last 4 miles, but a new PB, so mustn't grumble............
kyt
Nightmare from 15. Hot. Empty. I haven't seen so many runners walking so soon. Never Walked Before, Never Walk Again. Next!
Belper Bear
Absolute bloody nightmare - but managed to finish!
wozzlehunter
fab weekend, brillant race.
davie y
Disaster , knew early on it was going to be a slog due to the heat. Hit 18 miles , then bang!! everything went out of my legs and had to run/walk the last 8. Not only got sore legs today but third degreee sunburn . ouch!!Gonna enter Loch Ness now and get some revenge on the 26 miles!!
Lincsfella
HUMPH! :o(
Superb even though
purephase
gutted with the time, over 25 minutes slower than last year. stomach cramps after 15 miles, leg cramps after 18 miles which got so bad my legs refused to run any more just after 22 miles so the end of the race was walked. actually having to walk is more disapointing than the time. i think there are a lot of factors which contributed to the time, i ran the first half at nine minute mile pace, much slower than my recent half marathon PB, but even the first half felt quite hard and running at that speed should have been easy. oh well i will have to analyse what went wrong when i get over the disapointment and learn from it for next time.
karinsmiles
Dreadful, dreadful race. Felt really warm and did every stupid thing before and during the race it was possible to do (not enough taper, too much walking on the Saturday then ran without a watch and I think I probably started too fast, bonked out and then felt too sick to take more gels).
Hendy
Going for it again. Some say its too soon to run another marathon pb again but as a runner, we're all nuts. C'MON!!!!! :)
Auld fat Ironman
A bit too hot, struggled from 18miles.
Yano
Hot day. Averaged 8s for the first half but 8.40s for the 2nd half! Felt strong throughout and got 'faster' in last few miles but was too slow from 13 - 20 miles. Missed a PB by 1-2mins but overall very pleased with the run.
gadgy
didnt finish really bad chest
