Grey Badger Started steady and tucked in behind someone who usually beats me and followed him,a couple of people passed me in first 2k to put me in 8th place but pulled back a bit distance on the long uphill on the 3rd and 4th kilometer and got into 6th place. Ran a steady pace from there to the 9th kilometer passing 2 more and then made a hard push on last kilometer to leave another runner and finished 3rd and best time for this race by 40sec so very well pleased. jazz Due to lack of race fitness just decided to take it fairly steady @ the beginning. Felt better than thought I would & hills wern't as bad as I had remembered them to be when last did this race 3 yr ago. Ran closer to 44 mins 3 yrs ago but quite pleased with my run bearing in mind the amount of training and races have missed with hip injury this year. It was overcast and fairly muggy with lots of midges but think conditions would have been alot worse if the sun had got out Tynedale Harriers & AC 38:49 41:59 45:44 65.69
