felt the last couple of miles and slowed noticeably, still lacking bit of endurance
Although not a PB really enjoyed today went as well as could be expected with recent injuries - steady start, dug in a bit in the middle and finished strongly. It was brilliant running weather and with chip timing my only gripe about this race sorted
seems to be a lot of PB's well done everyone
Really pleased with the time as I was suffering from a head cold. Because of this I was far too pessimistic with the prediction. I'm amazed at just how many local people come out to cheer us on considering that the race goes through mostly countryside.
Definatly gave it my all hit a new max HR. Very wobbly on the legs after the finish, had a lie down with a couple of worried john's ambulance guys looking after me.
But v big PB (4:49) so pleased with that
Race no: 1541
gun time: 01:33:48 Position 456/3905
Chip time: 01:32:54 Rank 441/3905
Just great from start to finish. 2 min PB and a superb weekend
Please don't bet - too near London
Lovely conditions and pleased to get another sub 1:30. Was going well up to half way, then the second half was hard work.
Plan was to go off too fast and just keep on going. Splits 2 mile @ 10:17; 5 mile @ 26:00; 10 mile @53:59. PB by 1:30.
Very happy with this, found it very conjested at beginning!
A great race, good organisation, scenic route and lovely memento. But my one and only time running it, unless i have a big change of heart, due to the price. I know a lot of roads are closed off and the runner is really well looked after, so i am not quibbling about it. Just that there are cheaper halfs around.
busy at the first mile and not as flat as they say it is... however still beat my previous best by nearly 4 minutes..
Dean the Whippet
Had a cold and injury the week before
Why do I think I'm going to regret this? My HM pb is pretty out of date, and set on this course when I tore my calf at 11 miles. I'm sure if I can train consistently I should manage a decent PB. Just need to not damage myself on the day
Only decided to do this the day before. Felt a bit crazy as had only done 5 miles in training and only started running again after long break about 3 weeks ago! So really proud of just getting round and time much better than I could ever have hoped for!
Ran too fast for 6 miles and then went backwards. 1st HM so part of the learning curve I guess. Weather great and excellent organisation.
Was very pleased with this result as I was 5.5 mins quicker then I was last year on this course! It shows that my London Marathon training is going really well and fills me with confidence for it. Fab traffic free course, great support- overall a really well organised race.
Another 20 seconds off the PB, will get sub 1:40 before the year's out...
Great race, perfect weather and all well organised. just ran out of juice a bit on last few miles so couldnt' get to target time. for a race with a flat course reputation there's a fair few uphill bits in those last couple (or least that's how it felt!)
Only gripe would be got a bit congested in places, nothing too bad though.
I had no idea how this would go as I did virtually no running in the week leading up to it, although I felt fit, but it went very well - a PB by about a minute and a half. I can't say it wasn't tough, because getting a PB normally feels tough, but I went off too fast as usual but eventually realised that I could sustain that pace anyway. 1:35 was my more ambitious target and I very nearly got there. I should have been looking at my watch! This is my local race so Iit was lovely to see so many familiar faces on such a beautiful day. The chip timing was a bit of a revelation, avoiding the usual chaotic funnel.
Fox on a run
Conditions perfect. Felt good and nailed a new PB.
Nice race, crowded start as usual but chip timed so not too bad. Kept pace in check in the first 7 miles and then worked hard to pick up the pace, finished strong but working hard
Good race, well-organised but... a PAPERWEIGHT ? Where's the medal !
fantastic day, lovely flat course and 15 minutes off my PB, well impressed!!
must train more, dont go for a drink the night before!!!!!!!!!!!
New PB for this year !
First ever 1/2 felt really tired in the days before and had a sore throat starting on the morning of the race. The miles just flew by, i can`t believe the time i did absolutley made up. YEESSSSSS!!!
Perfect conditions. Due to starting near the back I started nice and slow (8m 40s pace) which I think helped me warm up
Very lucky with the weather conditions, was a beautiful morning for running. Start was quick and the gradual downhill over the first half got me thinking that the sub 70 was on. Second half was tougher but kept going strongly and picked it up over the last few miles. Pleased with another PB 5 weeks after the last one.
Great weather. Really surprised myself on the day. Maybe I should stop being so pessimistic.
I was about 30s behind 9 minute mile pace for most of the race which I was happy with. Then I lost about 3 minutes on mile 10 and couldn't recover. More long training runs needed.
5:40, 5:53, 5:56, 5:53, 5:41, 6:02, 5:58, 5:56, 6:21, 6:08, 5:55, 5:57, 6:10, 0:46
MP/hard training run
gotta beat Miskell, oh yeah....
Great weather (cool & sunny). PB. Go to loo earlier next time before start of race - to avoid the very long queues and almost missing the start of the race!
No watch, just ran!
Great conditions, gave it everything and smashed my pb!
