This event is listed on these dates:

A bit below par today; started to flag from 6k on which was disappointing.Went out too quick.
Sorry to those who bet on me today.
Hopefully a flat and fast one to start the autumn season. Indeed a fast course. Pleased with time given recent injuries.
My PB course. No pressure then.....
UPDATE*** A PB - I did it, beat the elusive 50 minutes. Yee ha!!!!!

A great race this. Despite two incidents at the start (loads of abuse shouted at someone who was believed to be a convicted paedophile followed by a car trying to plough its way through competitors who responded by banging their fists on it) the race was very well organised. There was nothing the organisers could have done about these incidents.

I started off too fast then spent k3-k5 talking myself out of being able to run a sub 40m. "Bad ankle, 2 distracting incidents at the start, tired after first week back at work, tired after 12 minute test on Thursday, hilll" - hill? Wait a minute - barely an undulation.

At k7 I picked up the pace but my Garmin told me I was slowing down. I kicked I up a bit faster for the last 2k but not enough. By the time I saw the 200m to go sign it was too late. I even had enough energy to spring for the line and do some daft celebration for my PB as I crossed the line.

This PB doesn't really count, I could have done done a sub 40m if I'd been more resilient.
Was aiming for quicker time, but a quick wee break at 5K but pay to that, However more than happy with my time
