clairevmc I was 1st female - very pleased with that! Have never won a race before. Got a great PB too. Well organised race, very clear distance markers and a nice route. Homemade cakes and biccies at the end was a nice touch too. Hamilton Harriers, Scottish Veteran Harriers 37:58 37:58 39:04 76.22
connelld I wanted to race at average 6 minute miles. Started faster than I wanted to and had a couple of poorer Km's near end. However, I achieved my target and knocked 1.27 of my PB. A first for Sunbed Athlete, 2nd for gokeith and team prize for Killie Guys and Girls. Great Course and Great atmosphere. Kilmarnock Harriers & AC, Scottish Veteran Harriers Club 35:24 35:49 36:44 72.53
Gokeith course best time, went through sticky patch from 4k to 6k lost a bit of ground on the guys in 3rd+4th position then managed to get back into stride, closed down on 4th place at 8k,caught 3rd place just before 9k then moved into 2nd place with about 800m to go.Good feeling to chase down and pass runners at the end.Team prize with Scott,James and John C into the bargain.Pb for Cd and loads more prizes for other Killie runners so another good nights work all round for team Killie Kilmarnock Harriers & AC, Loudoun Runners AC 33:13 33:13 33:41 81.98
hannkies Bit disappointed with my race if I'm honest. 1st K was a bit fast but not drastically so, every K till halfway was slower than the previous one, but from 5 - 10 K I got each one faster than the previous one. Strange. Isolated from the first mile, no-one passed me, and I picked up a place. In hindsight deffo should have bit the bullet and went with the wee group in front as I'm sure I'd have been a fair bit faster but didn't so it's not an issue. Top top runs by SBA, and clubmates GoKeith, Connell, James, Les and Kara amongst others. Finished 8th of 162 in an as usual excellently organised race. Kilmarnock Harriers & AC, Scottish Veteran Harriers Club 34:21 34:42 35:19 77.02
John Kynaston I really enjoyed the race last night. Set off hard and got to 5k in 18.51. Worked hard on the way back in 19.09. Slightly disappointed not to get under 38mins but 38.00 will do!! I reckon it took me at least a second to go over the line at the start!! Kilbarchan AAC 38:00 38:00 38:30 38:00 77.53
