Cormorant By the second lap even the camber of the pavement alongside the Thames was giving me trouble - along with cramping calves and (a new one this) a stiff right hip making itself known at 10 miles - but this is a well-organized event, though horribly early and perhaps inadvisable to do with a cold and on four hours sleep. Fast&Furious Perfect running conditions and I got carried away and ended going much faster than I had planned. My aim was to do 6:30 to 6:40 per mile but ended up doing nearer 6:20 pace.

I was placed 17th out of 616 finishers. Woking AC 1:41:28 1:41:28 1:45:00 1:41:28 75.94
Frodo City of Plymouth AC 1:36:37 1:52:38 1:52:38 63.71
GAZGIB I kept a steady sub 9 pace up to mile 11, before slipping to 9:30s for 12,13 & 14. Then the wheels fell off and I was well over 10 for the last 2 miles, but I just jogged in knowing I would hit my target time. Watch read 2:28:44, so I think published time must be gun time and not chip. Bracknell Forest Runners 2:12:40 2:29:06 2:30:00 2:29:06 48.75
Georgie29 Stopped the watch around 5 seconds after crossing the line and it said 16.1 miles. As my watch usually underreads rather than overreads would be interested to see what anyone else recorded? Absolutely loved the run, really well organised and a great morning for running....knee pain and stiffness after about 14 miles but not enough to stop me. Was really pleased as only ever run 10.5 miles before without stops!!! Would definitely do it again. Guernsey Island AAC 2:11:26 2:20:46 2:30:00 2:20:46 56.69
gray First 16 miler - fun run this (in the nicest sense of the word) - quite like the early start which leaves you the rest of the day to....well....sleep. Special tribute should be paid to the enthusiastic oriental-looking gentleman standing alone on the pavement at 7 and then again at 15 miles applauding every runner. Good on you Sir. Gadget freak who was doubting the position of the nine mile marker (while I was having a short energy crisis) reminded me why I've never bothered to get a Garmin. On schedule for a good New York if injuries or illness stay away. Thank you, Kingston. Cranleigh Tortoise & Hare Runners 2:21:22 2:21:22 2:21:22 56.39

SharonD This will be a pb unless I have a complete nightmare - first race on way to 07 London Marathon and had misjudged miles run previously so legs started giving out at mile 14 and had to walk/run to the end in 2:55, dissapointed as stupidly aiming for a silly time......this time round I am marathon fit with all those miles in the legs and aiming for a much more realistic time.....just not sure about the change in weather to hot, was looking forward to a cool day!!! It was fab - went round comfortably and enjoyed it, still hate the last two miles but won the battle with them!! Garmin said 2.36.39 but chip said 2.37.01...Next stop Dublin Ranelagh Harriers, St. Mary's University College AC 2:37:01 2:37:01 2:40:00 2:37:01 51.39

taulpaul Great race in preperation for the full marathon next week. Two lap course along the Thames was quite pleasant...early start though and only a lousy mug at the finish....Came in position 280 out of 623 finishers Birmingham Swifts 2:12:04 2:12:04 2:12:04 55.32
