WOW! That was quite something... it had been raining for at least 48hrs solid, the clag was almost at valley floor level and it was still raining... so a tough one wading through ankle deep bog, and the going was very muddy and wet and spongey, which did slow me down no end. Then I took a wrong turning in the clag, adding an extra 2 miles to the race, so I actually ran 30 kms, not 27 today... still feeling good at the finish and I think the girls were surprised I ran in, collected my certificate and memento, and ran streight out, as I wanted a bath before work! Don't think my legs have ever been this muddy :-). Also, extremely pleased with my current level of fitness, which is much higher than I thought. Longest run to date this year has been 13 miles, so this was good going!!! Did not like the fact that the visiblity was so poor, and my glasses were wet as well, whcih added to my discomfort. It is essential to be able to see where you are going, on uneven terrain...
