good race was had very happy with time as i'm building my miles at the mo and havn't really done enough for a half. The last 2 miles were tough and the hill the second time took about everything from me legs ah but what the hell got a PB wa hey
a slow race as only running my mate around
Pulled calf at 4 miles
Entered, got number.*POST RACE* Got new PB!
Ate Wheater-bix and bread and butter for breakfast... then loaded up on Jaffa Cakes on the way in the car... with the odd Red Bull... Weather conditions were perfect for me....
Quick start... Halfway I realised I might be in with a chance of 1HR 30MINS when I crossed the halfway point at 45MINSish.... managed to keep up with the other 1hr 30 runners... though began to slip away around 8 miles... But kept up a good pace throughout.... The hill toward the end of both laps really took a lot out of me though... Around 10miles I could feel my calves and top of my leg beginning to ache but managed to push through it.... Came round the last corner and sprinted across the line.... Probably the best feeling of my life.
When I stopped my hamstrings and calves really hurt... struggled to walk... 3 hours later i feel a little better... going to go chill with a Bulmers
Last HM this year, No. 149 in total and my fastest time since 2001 but unfortunately not a PB, maybe next year...
Hillier (is that a word?) thank I remember!
Awful start - couldn't get going.
not a bad run considering amount of training, must have been the fact that I gave up booze for a whole week
Smudger 3 The slower lioness
My second half just completed my half in coventry.Hoping to better my time as cov was hilly and feel i could get a slightly faster time but half are a challenge and dont want to promises anything.Looking forward to it will give it my all.One week after hereward relay if i get in.WOW WOW AND DOUBLE WOW chip time 2 hours 12 minutes and 56 seconds so pb.Enjoyed the race.Great aptsmosphere.Delayed start by 15 mins but we started the race with the london marathon theme tune playing.Loved it.xx
Won't be running, been too ill.
Cold weather and delayed start meant not a good run.
Lined up with Gandhi, KK and CY. Started off very bunched together and trying to avoid puddles. 2 lap race with a bad hill at mile 6 and 12. Managed to run the whole race although struggled on the last 2 miles. Nice to see Mile Muncher,FF and also my daughter Claire and her partner Scott with his son Cameron. Very cold. Really enjoyed the day.
offical time 01:41:00 - timed from start gun to when I crossed the line. Actual time from crossing start line to crossing finish line - 01:40:01.
My first race back after about 13/15 years and delighted to achieve 1hr 33m 03 secs. Previously I had entered only an occasional 10k or half marathon. The real bonus was achieving a time quicker than I did all those years ago, so I feel inspired to do well now!
