bedlam_g Final leg of my 3 Heb3 Half Marathons - A very tough hilly course, but if I practice tying my laces I think I can manage 1.24, which may be just about enough to clinch 2nd place in the Heb3 series. The race website does however contain this quote, “In a fashion unique to Barra, wind and rain will at all times be directly in your face - potential runners should train for this by running whilst pushing a wardrobe Bellahouston Road Runners, Cumbernauld AAC, Kilmarnock Harriers & AC, Scottish Veteran Harriers Club 1:13:23 1:19:18 1:24:00 1:26:53 67.61
Torbeg Trotter First Half and what a half to conquer. Getting to the race is the easy bit - 5hr ferry journey, wild camping etc. Then comes the real hard bit - running clockwise round the island with a bugger of a hill at the end when you least want and need it. However hard work has its rewards - sub 2hrs and a great seafood buffet at the finish, followed by a céilidh in the evening. Race is part of the remarkable and challenging HEB3 series of races around the western isles taking in Stornoway, Skye, Benbecula, Barra and Skye. This year the series was won for the first time by an all female team of Helensburgh Helensburgh AAC 1:49:46 1:50:47 1:58:02 51.88
