Lieutenant Lucerne Once again for this race it was wet and windy. Slow first 2Kms uphill into the wind and driving rain. Then a few faster Kms. At 6 Km my left shoe lace worked loose and got tangled. Tried to tie it, but needed a second stop, by which time the knot refused to budge, leaving the shoe very loose. Fortunately it didn't cost me a PB, probably just a second fastest time at 10K. (If you bet on me, you should be able to recoup some of your losses when I run a 5K in June.) Unaffiliated 37:45 40:12 41:07 69.90

Lycra Hurricane Wet and windy, but an excellent race well organised. My pb chances were taken away by having to re-tie my laces 3 times! Bedford Harriers AC, Rushden Runners 48:22 48:52 49:09 62.56
Ally2 No83. In good shape. wet and wild winds mean I have a low 33 in me on better day. 1k 3:17, 2k 6:45, 3k 10:09, 5k 16:45 (in 6th place) 8k 27:21 had stitch at 9k but battled to line. Came 4th so pleased. Right at the front and was in group of 5 for first 2k, the winner storming ahead, then dropped back from them for next 3k but pulled in couple on back 5. Vindicator Unofficial time: Sorry failed to beat my PB on this one. I had a weekend of travelling to a wedding which was hardly good preparation and the weather was hardly inspiring today either. The result was that my heart just was not in it. Had the weather been OK, I think I could have beaten my PB, but not by much. Today, 41 minutes was not going to happen. Vicksta Sorry PB betters. Had a rubbish race. Lots of factors contributed to the race being rubbish. Had a tiring weekend with 2 x 5 h drives and up until 3 with a fair amount of to drink on the saturday night. Legs felt heavy from first mile and the uphill start really didn't help me. Consequently I never really got my legs going. The weather was awful, driving rain and wind. But the main thing was that I just didn't have my racing head on. At Stortford I was really going for it, whereas today I just couldn't be bothered. I knew it wasnt my day from 1Km in, with my legs feeling heavy and by about 4 Km I was not at all happy. So I ended up at my default comfort HM pace. And stuggled to keep at that tbh! So ended up 1 min 15 secs slower than my PB from 2 weeks ago (which was a harder course), and even slower than my pre-mara Ely 10K PB. Oh well, there are plenty of races coming up, but I am disappointed to have run so badly on what is potentially a fast course. 37th Woman.

Mylo Overall pleased with 47.11 (Unofficial time) but difficult to say how much quicker I could have gone without the wind and rain; someone I was talking to said he had done the race 3 years ago but 2 minutes quicker. All hypothetical of course but just maybe next year it might not be wet and windy ! Mid Essex Casuals 42:39 46:15 47:00 47:10 56.71

ml2run A bit dissapointed that didn't break or get nearer to 50 mins but still took off at around 2 mins from last years time. Thought after the FLM training I would do it easily maybe that was my downfall, don't think the rain and wind helped - even just mentally. Bloomin' weather the poor organisers should be a lovely day out as well as a good 10k race. Dunmow Tri Club 51:30 52:11 50:00 52:11 57.57

Ginnersinner Will be trying for under 55 mins

Very pleased with time - faster than I thought I'd do. I did think I'd gone out too fast but held on to pace!

BrianJ Sorry fellow chemists I did try to win you points, but the incline and headwind around 6-7K got me and left myself too much to do. One day this race will have perfect weather!! North Herts Road Runners 55:07 55:07 56:00 56:57 53.06
