i hear this is a good half to be in .update... superbly organized race . set off then realized garmin wasnt working aaarrrghh. so stayed with 1 30 pacers for 10 mils then pushed on . really enjoyed it . a new pb as well . happy days !!!
daffy
Was not 100% so was happy with time.
Vindicator
1:33 is what McMillan says I can do off my 10K PB so I will attempt this. It will come down to quality of training on the run up to this - 1:35-6 may be more realistic.
UNOFFICIAL TIME: I nailed it! Probably my best run race ever. Controlled first half then went for it in the closing 5K. Had sooo much left for the final run in, I reckon I could have gone sub 1:33. Next time...
AngeM
OMFG, a PB! I've been chasing 1:45 for a half marathon for 5 years!! Never got anywhere close to it, till today. Garmin said it was 13.2 miles as well! So unofficially a sub 1:45, okay, I won't get ahead of myself there! ;0) Chuffed to bits, I blarted like a big girl in the finisher's funnel (and on FF's shoulder) when I realised! As ever, a well organised, friendly race on a pretty course.
Schnecke
Taken the plunge and entered as I know this sells out fast - only 4 weeks after Abingdon, so anyone's guess how it'll go. Update - surprised myself a bit by getting a reasonable PB, and helping a lady from my club to get an even better PB, which was nice!
Vicksta
Had the lurgy for the last two weeks and still bunged up and coughing, so not on top form. Enjoyed the race though, well marshalled, and special thanks to the 1:45 pacers who overtook me at 12 miles and wouldn't let me drop back behind them. Great T-shirt at the end too. Nice to meet some Fetchies too!
EarlyRiser
A late race note. I should PB this one. That's about it really! POST-RACE. That was good! Another PB. Great course, good conditions, ran well. That's still about it really. Met some new faces, said hello to those I knew and good to see a lot of my club runners too.
BlueWombat
suffering from a cold for trhe last few weeks and done little running so I just tried to relax through this and enjoy it, which I did!
april_runner
Absolutely amazing race - had the run of my life!
Jigs
Hard work, I knew a PB was out by about 3.5 miles. Let the pace drop a bit (like I had any choice in the matter) and hung on! Two weeks after marathon PB and not a lot of training in-between doesn't bode well for HM racing. PB for the course, so pleased with that :) Met some nice Fetchies today, which is always good :) Pub lunch of pie & chips to recover with :P
Mrs Jigs (Luverlylegs)
A great event as usual, nice to see so many Fetch friends old and new :o) A PB was never on the cards although it is fair to say that I hoped for one, well be honest, most of us do, don't we? :o) I was going well for 1:38 but had stomach cramps throughout the run, the strong smell of onions at mile 9/10 finally tipped the balance of my delicate stomach and I had to dive into a field, tried to pick up the pace for the last 3 miles but it was already too late, I know it is only 2 weeks since NY mara but I am disappointed with my time. :-( PB for the course though so that's a positive :o) Love the technical shirt :o) enjoyed the meal after, thanks guys :o) A Big WELL DONE to all those who managed to get their dream PB's today!! also to those racing their first half :o)
FML
Need to set off nice and steady (target just sub 11 min mile pace) to ensure I can finish ok after 2 bad HM and a dnf, use the last 3 miles downhill if got anything left to achieve prediction. Update :) :) :) :)
Chaz
Dont know if I can hit my PB but will give it my best shot after a great Abingdon. Put it this way, get me to the 10 mile marker in 64.30 and I'll destroy my PB. First 10miles are for pacing, last 5k are for racing,,,

10 miles in 64.12 - then went for it. Just got under 1h23m on the chip. YES!
flanker
will be trying for a big PB
stinking cold ruined it for me. Went out to try for the PB: 7:31, 7:30, 8:30. As soon as I hit a hill it became apparent I had nothing to give. The next 10 miles were all about survival. Even the last 3 mile downhill stretch felt like it was uphill. Apparently it was a nice, PB-friendly course. I don't remember any of it, other than to me it felt slow and mountainous, not fast and undulating. Sorry to all those who bet.
Martyn Fisher
Followed the 1:45 pace group at a respectful difference (but couldn't quite catch them !), and got the sub 1:45 that I was hoping for, but didn't really expect. Third best time ever for a HM. Chuffed.
PowerJen
My first half - I couldn't have enjoyed it any more.
CanaryYellow
Entered, (note to self: numbers in the cupboard).
Slowly But Shirley
Better than I expected - I was just hoping for only 10 mins slower than last year but it was only out by about 4 mins and I did a lot more walking than planned. Really enjoyed this Half again - one of my favourites - and what a great goodie bag and technical t-shirt! Will be back next year and hope to be fitter for this race next time!
Jobe
A shiny new PB of 1 min 10 seconds - never thought it was possible !
PaulaMc
I'd really like to get close to 2.05 on this one, but anything under 2.07 would be fantastic

UPDATE: blimey that was good!!
jolguk
My friends tell me that the marshals were incredible and the course was lovely. I barely noticed, as I was feeling very sorry for myself in the throes of cold hell. But I'm glad that least I ran, when I'd been thinking about skipping it all week. And now I know there's a great PB course down there in St Neots. The main thing, though, was speaking to so many Fetchies - Ruth, Kinky and Flanker, Richk, Jobe, Forest Faerie... and seeing so many people do great times, including one of my friends on his very first half. . Brilliant stuff.
RuthB2
I really want that predicted time, but we'll see on the day... *uodate* not quite sure what to say. except yey!
rangermouse1967
Whooh achieved my target of a sub 1.45 before the end of the year took nearly 4 minutes off.
BrianJ
Not a PB but it was fun
G Man
Wow!! 2hr pacer helped, well pleased with that!
Big Jules
Woo hoo! I did it! It's taken almost a year, and on my fave half marathon course (perhaps that's why). A whole 7 mins of my previous PB (which funnily enough was at this same event).
Nic_23
Very happy as PB by over 2 minutes! Stayed with 1:45 pacers for majority of last 6 miles, they were a great help!
No.8 ™
Good comfortable run, legs seem to have recovered from Abingdon finally. 10th place.
Mothy
Great race. Bit hilly for me and I was nursing some sort of pulled muscle at the top of my leg which is absolute agony now. I ran it according to plan and I thought I measured my pace very well and so so so pleased with my PB!
Woad Wunner
Don't bet on me - My body is objecting to 4 races in the last 6 weeks and the legs are like lead. Going along for enjoyment rather than a PB
RichMallaber
Lovely course & great conditions to run in, the deer that ran in front of me was a very nice touch. Perhaps I hadn't recovered from Dublin fully - there's certainly more in the tank for improving this time. It was a nice surprise to see another Fetchie there from Manchester.
Toonie Express
Tired from yesterday.
DrBob
even paced effort, very smooth, spoilt by cramp in the last three miles which slowed me down considerably. Hopefully not too much pain tomorrow! .....
shop girl jules
fantastic run...knocked 8 mins of 2006 st neots and 11 secs off pb...really enjoyed it, perfect weather for me, great company , marshalled well and great goody bag at end.
Forest Faerie
I have trained sensibly for this and have lost a stone in weight, so I am hoping this will produce the PB I long for.
Cats Whiskers
Used this as a benchmark to see where things stand, before (hopefully) targetting a half properly in the spring. Really chuffed (esp. as this time includes a c. 45s "diversion"!). Had Garmin running but refused to look at it until the end, as I wanted to tune into how my body really felt, rather than how my head was telling it to feel. Was pleasantly surprised when I checked the time at the end, esp. as 6 weeks ago I was struggling to run 9m at anywhere near this pace.
GettingThere
Great run today, 4yrs @ St Neots 4 pbs and great to see so many fetchies, Mr& Mrs Jigs (Luverly Legs), Vicksta and Vindicator - have to do the Harlow 10 next year eh!
Mr BDR
Now with the official chip time! Despite the remains of a cold from this week, I felt great and managed to really destroy my previous PB! Very pleased!
KoughKandi
Entered. *UPDATE* Paced coach CY for him to reach his new PB, (Which he did) ;-)
jess84
very hard for various reasons, mainly not enough speed work and erratic training
Captain Slow
First 5 miles ropey. The 1:45 pace makers helped greatly from mile 7. Best half so far. Terrific course, many thanks to spectators.
widymins
damp and drizzly, but almost no wind.
