Ran 47 mins in 2007 in a gorilla costume and with an injured calf. Hoping to make a proper go of it this year.
Ugh, had a horrible race, hammered it up the hill and died a death in last 3k.
I REALLY wanted to walk when I hit the 'hill' but managed to keep running somehow. I was surprised to get so close to the hour after being 32.45 for the 1st 5k. Smashing race but the toughest one yet for me.
Still can't manage the hill. Back started giving me problems after 50-100m of climbing. 33 minutes to 5K mark. Big negative split, but not big enough!
Almost did it Dad, (9/12/40 - 01/04/08), we miss you!
was doing 5min k's up to 6k and struggled from then. Got confused with signs for 5k race and at one point thought I had only 2k to go- wrong!!Bit gutted I never got my under 50 for this race but maybe next year:)
well organised race, what a killer hill!
I REALLY need to get some training in...!
First every race.
Shower pre race desisted and it was quite warm. Only critism is that the route lanes are so narrow. My chip didnot work correctly either as did a number of others I spoke to.
