running this slowly with my friend Katy
Gun time 1:07:30, Chip 1:05:14 Good run with oceanspirit - thank you
Looking forward to a nice run along the seafront in Brighton. Hopefully it won't be windy.
45:07 chip time
46:47 gun time
Flat and fast apart from the first 1.5k. Unfortunately could not get close enough to the front of the start so it became a slow first 1k
Hoping to get a pb, although the weather does not look hopeful at the moment!
Update - A pb - woohoo!
I have knocked off 6m 24 seconds in 6 months, so happy!!!
great conditions, well organised and a new PB!
a big PB but not so well paced. Went out too fast and PB'd at 5k (19.57). Legs still fatigued after Bexhill half and faded in the middle. Finished strong with a 4 min km to finish.
Gutted - didn't learn anything from the Brands Hatch race where I did not prepare the night before.
Fantastic day, perfect conditions. Not quite as good as I had hoped a couple of weeks ago, but very pleased with the time
Bit disappointed not to get closer to the good times of a few years back, but has spurred me on to make sure next year is a triumph.
First post injury race, so just going to enjoy it. Will aim to go faster than PW time. UPDATE. Really enjoyed this race and pleased with time considering lack of training and even managed a negative split.
Great conditions but I didn't see as much improvement as I'd hoped through the training.
Did not expect to finish in this time! Managed to keep a steady pace throughout, and my pacer for company!
too fast first mile (6:04!!! faster than any of my mile rep times), slowest mile 40 secs slower - 7 seconds shy of a sub 40, next time!!
Hoping for PB but sore back from falling at weekends x country!
Didn't stop all the way round!! Yay!
Good weather- slight breeze
Felt fine on way out to Blackrock then when I got to huts in Hove was feeling very tired. Got second wind on way back but last run into the finish was still quite hard
Race number 1639
PB and pleased as training volume has been down... still would like to run a sub 40!
My peparation had been interupted by personal events and as my first 'race' I wanted to just complete it without stopping in around an hour. I was suprised at how running amongst others affected my running and time as I didnt feel I was running faster than normal.
Perfect weather conditions and lots of PBs - hurrah
3 secs away from a PB. Minial wind and clear cold day.
My First Ever 10k Race !
Was paced around this to get my PB
