My race debut in 2007 and i finished 5th from last. Loved every minute of it and i will really enjoy turning up again and "showing everyone" how much i have improved. *EDIT* Ran approx 1hr26 split during the Great East Run 20k last week.
WOW struggled round, very slow start as beginning was cramped got into my running over the middle section and didn't feel too bad but then hit the sizeable ascent at the 7.5/8 mile mark and had to walk up it which really annoyed me. Got back into my running with some shouts of support and crawled over the line but not literally.
Smattered my race predictions and have got a nose bleed from finishing so high up on the leader board. 46th Overall. OMFG. Still got beaten by over 5 mins by a M60, genius, I running.
Head wind and mostly up hill for first half, better second part some good down hill bits.
Hopefully as it's not quite 10 mles I can break the hour. ***UPDATE*** First lady by 5 mins but a bloody tough course!! Bodes well for a quick 10 miler. Very happy with run.
Ran this race in 1:22:10 2 years ago and then did the 20 last year so looking forward to a new PB on this course
Race report: lots of fetchies and lots of Striders - difficult course - slower time than I would have liked but felt ok at the end. Thanks for all the bets !
