Hanneke I am back, I did it, I did my first tri... and it is confirmed! I HATE swimming... not sure if I can stick with this lark, as I really do not care for the swim... bike was great fun, run was spoilt by the fact that we had to run through Rapeseed stuff, which gives me severe hayfever symptoms, culmintaing in asthma... so I had to get back to a walk 4 times, just to make sure I got the breathing right... was panting on the bike too 

Is it my imagination, or is there a LOT more rape being grown this year???

Anyways: 400m swim, clumsy breaststroke: 10.04, bike, including T1 & T2 48.08 (I had 42.30 mins on the bikecomputer 4 24 kms), run 25.51. I had it as 26.04 on the Garmin, but was not sure where to start it... for 5 kms.

Must say that the swimming took a LOT more out of me than I would have expected as I foound it hard to settle into a rhythm on the bike... also, I had to stop at 2 traffic lights and the traffic was HORRENDOUS! Had to slam on the breaks and sat behind cars that would not let me past several times  Dangerous driving, and all the road were plastered with race in progress and watch out cyclist signs, still most cars too no notice!

Disappointed with my average speed on the bike, which was only just 30 km/hr, but as I said, found it hard to settle in and did not get going properly until about halfway... max speed 58.9 kms/hr, which is cool, and I managed to cruise at over 40 kms/hr for a fair bit on the second half.

Run was tough, weird course, VERY narrow and we were running it in both directions, two loops... and as I said, lots of pollen that tighetened my chest. 

Seemed to have plenty in the tank after finishing, so something went clearly wrong somewhere down the line... or maybe I just recover quickly?

Right, going to log this, have an icecream and go out for a 7 mile fell run, as I feel I have not done enough today... FELL PONIES, Black Mountains MBO 1:20:00 1:23:33 1:23:33
