Hi ,
It looks like you're using an ad blocker.

The revenue generated from the adverts on the site is a critical part of our funding - and it's because of these ads that I can offer the site for free. But using the site for free AND blocking the ads doesn't feel like a great thing to do, which is why this box is so large and inconvenient. Some sites will completely block your access, but I'm not doing that - I'm appealing to your good nature instead. Did you know that you can allow ads for specific sites, whilst still blocking them on others?

Start a bit chaotic again and very difficult to move through the field, not too disappointed with time as started near the back and had strong wind against us most of the time
Was hoping for under 35 but with a break in training for a few weeks will be lucky to get anything under 38 mins

*update* very pleased with time
Started too far down the field and lost time threading through the pack. Quite windy and cold. Not much rain, just some light drizzle now and again. Sprint finish, which enabled me to break 38 minutes.
I was aiming for 30:30 and without the awful headwind on the uphill straits I might have sneaked it (sub-30 pace for the first 3 miles and finished fresh)- on the other hand it was a good PB and as usual a very enjoyable race with such a high-quality field. Had an 11-mile warm-down back to Middlewich afterwards with a tail-wind so all in all a very enjoyable day! Especially with victories in the Men's Vets Team, Ladies' Vets Team, Ladies' individual race for the club.
Managed to get another PB, it felt like the wind was in my face for 4 out of the 5 miles, and it was very blustery so I am pleased with the time, if it had been a calm day I am fairly confident that I would have gone under 36 minutes, still I'll save that for another 5 miler.
Skittering Monstrosity
Hoping to do around 44 minutes, but worried how long it will take to get started with that number of runners! At least it looks like it won't be snowing.
The start was fine, but my time was a bit slower than I'd hoped. I guess abject terror and 20 mph gusts of wind took their toll! A great race however.
Thought I set off too fast but it was perfect - shin splints most of the way round but forgot about them after 3 miles. Strong finish. Pleased with my time.
Having never run this distance outside of my training, not sure what time to go for. However 35mins sounds quite testing for me at this stage. UPDATE: Very happy to run quicker than I thought despite the strong winds. Pleased with the time despite missing the 2 and 3 mile markers(if they existed?).
My poor knees...
Was soooo cold and windy that at 2 miles I wanted to gve up!!!! am glad I didn't as I am well pleased with my time (Garmin time).
Was a nice course and well marshalled;would do it again.
Just one point:was the 3 mile marker missing or was I too quick and missed it!!!???
Very pleased with my time, especially in that wind.
Didn't get my predicted time but it was still a PB so pleased :) T-shirts nice this year too! The wind was hard going when running into it!
Nice race - very windy, slightly over 5 miles - PB
