Gobi Nice day out in the midlands for a 5miler and looks like a good Fetch turnout as well. Apologies to those I did not meet as I seemed to be running all the time. 13th place and 27.51, thats basically 5.34 pace in January after a late night and base training. Impressed by the quality of the field. Average HR is very encouraging as is the feeling that I could have kept going. The report etc. planned to go out at PMP (5.45) and then kick on after 3 miles. This plan lasted 2 strides as I went off at 5.20 mile pace. Soon realised I should get a grip but decided to hold mid 5.30s. KinkyS Watch time as I started at the back of the field in a fit of over-cautiousness. Rach E Entered this last minute. Not quite a pb but very pleased with performance given my health recently. Was able to back off slightly when things hurt and not really drop pace. Consistent mile splits and finished 3rd senior woman. There are some fast runners in the Midlands! Nice to chat to people, particularly Phal, Kinky & Flanker.
