Hi ,
It looks like you're using an ad blocker.

The revenue generated from the adverts on the site is a critical part of our funding - and it's because of these ads that I can offer the site for free. But using the site for free AND blocking the ads doesn't feel like a great thing to do, which is why this box is so large and inconvenient. Some sites will completely block your access, but I'm not doing that - I'm appealing to your good nature instead. Did you know that you can allow ads for specific sites, whilst still blocking them on others?

Thanks,
Ian Williams aka Fetch

not going to be a pb for me. Plan to take it a bit easy and have a natter on the way. Will be looking to come in just under 3 hrs with Sharon.
treetop
This was hard work. Uphill for about 7 miles then downhill to the finish. Hadn't done enough training so legs weren't up to the job. Disturbing end to the race with one runner clearly needing the paramedics. I really hope he is OK.
RunGaryRun
Such a great race. Not often you get to run on good trail paths with such slick organisation, and a great downhill finish, totally mad legs going faster in the last mile than the previous 12!! If you are thinking about doing it, then I can recommend it.
The Alchemist
A very rewarding race. Uphill for the first 8.5 miles so quite tough but a nice fast finish. Rain had stopped by the time we started but very wet underfoot. Very well organised and marshalled. Good crowd support.
Impossible is Nothing
Good race in the end. Horrible weather conditions and took a chance with wearing racers on this "trails" course but aprt from some puddles and slippy bits near the end the course was in pretty good nick. Predominantly uphill for first 9 miles (with a couple of sneaky switchbacks) made for quite hard going but then a crazy 4 miles of downhill made for a fast finish (including 5:34 for 13th mile). Beat all Westbury guys bar Glover, which was nice. Probably my best half marathon being only 1/2 minute out on a demanding course. Well organised race. Result: 22nd out of 1346
paulatt
Did not run due to hip problem
tulip
First half marathon in a long time and not feeling too confident. Just trying to get round will be the aim I think, and if I can do it without walking all the better (but that's a tall order). Looking forward to the downhill finish!!
This was very hard and I only just managed to complete the distance.... won't be doing this one again! Still, good exercise I suppose.
compo
Just looking forward to doing the distance - be nice to be able to do this routinely. Looking forward t the trail aspect in contrast to the old tarmac.
Time given here is chip to gun. Garmin time in training log is more accurate.
Gruntfuttock
Did this last year. Did 1.49ish. Very wet & windy. Made the mistake of wearing trail shoes. Course is best in trainers even when wet. My hips and knees complained biterly! Still - it's in the book.
runnyeyes
looking forward to not trying too hard! First time here..and really liked it..yah! for downhill second halves! The Forest was lovely, even on a grey day.
sluggett
Brill race. Thoroughly enjoyed it. The first 7-8 miles not so bad as I thought. All that hill training definitely paid off today. Pleased with my time as this is not a PB course.
The Plod
Ran a 5k race the day before and my legs were very tired in the last 3 miles. Rain was heavy. I found this hard as I had not done the distance in training to do 13 miles justice.
K1
bloody hard and a nightmare
