Fantastic course, amazing place to run, shame I ran a shocker. Had stomach pain so bad I had to walk downhill at one point. That wore off and it became much more pleasant although the legs wouldn't play. So look at the views, find the tadpoles and get to the end. :-)
That was a tough race, 1450 foot of climbing going by my garmin which also measured 9.66 iles meaning it was a reasonably accurate distance ;) My 2 months odd of non running due to injured show as it was hard work going up even the small hills let alone the coffin trail so i was happy to get inside 2 hours in the end.

Shins held up nicely bar the 8 min miling at the start, blame FBR and his insistance we were near the front. No bother at all from them on the way round, my knees hurt on the hily bits but thats normal for these races. Looking forward to tomorrows 8 mier in tatton park and roll on Halstead marathon in 3 week.
A course best. Ran with a heavy cold and tight chest. Perhaps not sensible but then I rarely am.
Think this will be more difficult than the Coniston one I did last year, I mountain bike in the area regularly so know how painful this is going to be!
Just aiming to get round at the moment...
Three hills, but great fun. This comes midway between FLM and Lochaber. Sheer madness, but I wouldn't miss this :-):-) *Update* Cold in the wind. Five minutes slower than last year which is good as wanted to take it easy.

Boingy weeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee. *note to self* Drive up on the day and stay hydrated with WATER the night before.

No cramps on the coffin trail this time :)

19th overall. Great race. Bit of room for improvement. Will ba back next year, fitter and faster!
Running Beard
Windy and a bit cold but realy enjoyed being out there running in the Lakes
Great race. Set out at a nice relaxed pace and kept going all the way round. Struggled on the downhills with a sore knee. Very pleased to get a PB by over 20 mins :-) Didn't like the choc covered kendal mint cake though.
Feck me that was hard... First half went okay but found it hard to get going again after stopping at the first water stop. Coffin trail never seemed to end...
Doing the Challenge as this is my first race of this type and I have no idea how slow I will be.
Did Derwentwater last year as my first trail race. Absolutely hated the uphill section but loved the downhill and in a moment of madness have signed up for all four races this year.
Kev Scone
not running now as x factor audition is same day but hope to maybe get back to party, party, party :) am also contemplating running on sunday if anyone fancies it?
Enjoyed the day - slightly quicker than last year!
Cat the Dog Lover
Fab event. As usual.
very hard
Ran round with the missus for the first 11k then enjoyed the coffin road and downhill to home. Great fun and very hard, but did not enjoy my spectacular fall - on a rare flat bit bizarrely, thanks to those around offering commiserations, no lasting damage done.
This was so much harder than I expected, and after all that almost gave out with 300m to go! great fun though, really enjoyed the downhills.

First trail race, nice local race for me to start with. Fantastic place to run!
coffin trail will pay this year!! currently on anitbiotics for a chest infection, so could be a bit of a struggle, especially up coughing trail! *well chuffed, managed to run the whole course and knock 6mins off last years time, despite getting over man flu and a chest infection!!*
Another fun day. Bitterley cold wind ! but dry. Must train harder.
well i aimed to get around and i did!! didn't think i would do it that quick so im well chufffed.
first time ever in a trail race (and such steep hills!). found it tough but definitely worth it, must do better next time! very friendly atmosphere and encouragment from fellow runners. any tips on steep downhill, I struggled Sawrey down to lakeside.
Second time I've done this race. It is a killer. hats off to anyone who can run up the coffin trail. It's both steep and too slippery. Descents are somewhat insane too.
Debut race - just back from 8 weeks out so was restricted to 10/11 min pacing so wore head cam round the course and chatted and took it all in. Superb
Didnt train enough and paid the price - this was hard work - really need to sort out some quality hill training - but not many hills near home - its hard to spot a single contour line on the map ......... flat..maybe 100 repeats of the canal bridge ..... more scope at work must explore ..
