Debstir Would have been better off with a canoe today! That was a mental amount of rain, on par with what we got at Loch Ness last year. Garmin measured 6.14m but it was probably drowning at the time. Good route, I'm sure it's the same as Vale of Leven 10k but haven't done it for years - most of it was the same as it used to be anyway! I think this was the 1st time this had been run for the Hospice and thought it was well organised but still don't know how chip timing can work with only a mat at the finish... IainMcK Rain was so bad they had to move the start. Decided to run with a waterproof jacket but, despite the rain, I was frying by 2k it so it spent the rest of the run wrapped round my waist annoyingly flapping at my legs - won’t make that mistake again. First 2K was almost all up hill and don’t think I ever really recovered. Never felt particularly good at any point around the course so was reasonably happy to retire for the season with a sub 50 minute. Unaffiliated 47:42 48:49 50:00 49:55 53.20
Russell M Soaked through even before the race started - & constant rain throughout. First competitive 10k so pretty happy with the time but could've broken the 42min barrier if I hadn't had to stop to tie my lace midway! Beginners mistake, won't do that again!
