great day all round. the start of the race was raining and very cold then it got sunny then started to rain again. i really enjoyed this race it was well organised and a good flat course (no arthurs seat!) really chuffed to run under the 4 hours aswell !
Great morning for a marathon....bit on the cool side with a dribble of rain near the start. Knocked over 2 minutes of my PB from 5 years ago...chuffed! Great course for a PB with not a lot of hills and those that you have to climb are slight gradients. Halfway split was 1:25:15 with a second half of 1:28:27...good to set a new PB when you are into vet status...;-)
Pleased with solid performance. 1.24.50 at 13.1 miles and felt comfy until about 21 when it got tough.
Second marathon, ran with a cold cramp set in at 11 miles and struggled to 15, dragged myself to the finish, there was know way I was having a DNF. Now looking for anyother Marathon to acheive the sub 4. Abingdon is looking favourite.
Flew around the first half in 1:47 and fell apart at 19 miles!
First marathon ever. Really enjoyed it and really chuffed with my time.
my first marathon which was a good race
Shocking run - Worst marathon to date. Due to lack of training following FLM both calves locked solid at 10mile, causing me to walk 10 miles to Portobello before jogging the remaining 6.2miles.
Weather was perfect, cool and even a bit of sleet! then sunnier later on.
Running really well and hit 20 miles at under 3hrs...in hindsight was going too well. 2 miles later in Portobello I crashed completely. Still way better than my first at Loch Ness. Shouldn't be so hard on myself.
19th position: Bella Bullets (10615)
Colin McGill, Stewart Robertson, Ian Goudie, Louise Gibson, Colin Moulson 03:06:02
First marathon. Delighted with the time. Went off too hard, hung on at the end.
First full marathon. Really didn't have a clue what time to expect. Would have taken 4:10 no problem so was delighted with sub 4h.
