My Tri report 1.13.54 48th overall and 3rd in my club champs missed second by 38 seconds.

Swim - Carp BUT better than expected for a breast stroke effort
Bike - Very uncomfortable and proof that a mountain bike and 1 road session are not enough to get happy for a race.
Run - I thought slow but turned out to be the second fastest in the race. The winner was quicker by 40 seconds.

I started last in my lane and instructed my 3 lane buddies to plough past as I would be slow. I was passed twice in 400 metres by all 3 guys. The chap who lead us off went the wrong way so I had bodies pushing water into my face everywhere except the last 4 lengths on my own.

The bike and the race was on as I tried to make up for my swim. I caught one person in transistion and two more on route. Rode well for about 3 miles then indifferent for 8 miles as I could not stay on my bars. Last 3 miles I could see riders and managed to focus.

Once on the run it was just a case of how fast could I go. I got good cadence but my stride was short and HR was not going up. I just could not pick up the pace enough. Reached the turn and kicked for home(kept up my cadence but stride did grow a little), I caught another dozen or so people including a poor guy struggling up the last hill. Rude to blaze past almost in the chute but HEY it was the club champs.

Rach E Team Kennet club sprint triathlon champs (400m swim/14 mile bike/5km run). ***UPDATE*** I had a very nice day out. 2nd open female and 43rd overall (178 competitors). I had a poor swim (relatively), a good bike and a reasonable run. The run was around 0.5km too long. Had the fastest female run of the day by a long way and was second fastest on the bike. Was a little disappointed that I had stomach probs AGAIN and was sick on the bike and couldn't run to full capacity because of cramps, but I guess it's all part of the event! Pleased with how it went and the rest of the club did well too (it was my club's sprint tri champs). Oh, did I mention I beat Gobi???!!?! Splits: Swim 7:56 (shocking!); T1: 2 minutes; Bike 40:50; T1: 2:04 (people got in my way in transition); Run: 21:01 Aldershot, Farnham & District AC, Team Kennet, Newbury Velo 1:10:00 1:13:01 1:13:01
