Cazmo Just got a PB on last years time so pleased! Was doing ok till around 9 miles then started to get slower! Nice broken windscreen on my car to return to also! Basingstoke & Mid Hants AC, Congleton Harriers 2:02:23 2:11:31 2:05:25 2:11:31 49.02
Chris Worthers delighted with the time although in the last 2 miles my legs felt like they had lead weights attached. no marathons for me this year. Bolton United Harriers & AC 1:49:11 1:57:58 2:07:00 1:57:58 49.15
ChrisDig Had poor run sorry to those who bet . my gun to line time was 1h 33m 22s - official results show it slower , there seemed little control over funnels after crossing so i expect a few people will have inaccurate times , an enjoyable day with good weather though:-) Unaffiliated 1:27:17 1:28:00 1:33:22 63.61
contraflow going to take this fairly easy as it's only 2 weeks until FLM.

Missed my PB by 8 seconds. I'm sure I would have beaten it if I hadn't got caught up in the congestion just after the start. Enjoyable run though. Unaffiliated 1:43:48 1:43:48 1:50:00 1:45:21 56.37

davelord what a great race, closed roads and excellent support all the way round. My race, set off at about 6.12 first mile then settled in and never went over 7mm, FLM is definitely just going to be a matter of getting round Trawden AC 1:19:19 1:28:14 1:28:00 1:28:14 71.16
DaveP Nice race well organised and excellent support! Not flat though moderate undulating more like, not as fast as Village Bakery course for sure. Bit windy but warm enough. Happy with result, not so much the time as finishing with a Eryri Harriers 1:20:14 1:20:14 1:22:38 74.73
Doctor K Previous best 2:18:53 in 2006. Got to beat that this time surely? Confident of a Pb after St Anns 10 miler.
Good run, returning the points, every mile under 10 mins except the last one -collateral damage, a blistered toe which I didn't notice in all the excitement. It was a bit warm too! Bolton United Harriers & AC 2:05:15 2:05:15 2:15:00 2:05:15 51.43

Geococcyx Pre-race preparations were going well until the car didn't start, so I had to jog to Stockport station to catch a taxi.

Great weather, great course, great organisation for such a big race, and a great time. The race itself went perfectly and I knew a PB wss on after 4 miles as I was running miles under 7:10 without tiring. I was expecting to tire after 8 miles, but kept putting in sub 7:30 miles.

Next year sub 1:30??? Unaffiliated 1:32:17 1:35:21 1:35:21 61.92

Ghilington Super Doggy No.1 Had a very poor start right at the back of the pack (due to p*#@ing about stretching) which meant the first two miles were very slow (11 mins & 10 mins)

jolguk As I won't have my husband to pace me round, I can't see me doing a good time. Then again, I could try chasing Homer - it was a good plan on my last race!

Hee hee, I see I beat my predicted time by a whole 6 seconds. Sooo - I dunno if it's because I was running faster this time, but Wilmslow seemed a lot more undulating than I remember it from 2 years ago. And I hated the heat. But I started with the pace group, and then, em, left them. Sorry, guys, but I did then do my own little 7:30 pace group. I got back on track on mile 2, and then kept it going to about mile 9 or 10 when my knee started to hurt a bit and I slowed down. So finally a minute outside my PB, but still my second best half ever and on a hot day - for running - which I never like. The day was far more memorable for meeting all the other Fetchies in the restaurant afterwards, though. :) Dragons RC 1:35:07 1:38:54 1:39:00 1:38:54 65.63

podrunner 4th Wilmslow half. hoping for a new pb but might be a close one. If all goes well on the day i should do sub 1.31 due to the tough courses i have raced around recently. OUTCOME - Beat my time for this course last year by 5 minutes but didn't get the PB i was hoping for. This race really does need chip timing, took me a couple of minutes to get over the start line and then had to do a bit of weaving to get round runners that had started too far up the field. Also wore a layer too many that i really could have done without as it was a lovely warm day. Sorry to those that bet on me, Maybe next time!! Should Av Run Quicker Running this at marathon pace, as I entered not knowing I was doing FLM, would have loved to have gone out for a PB but not today. **UPDATE** Going off official time here as it seems to be a touch out but ended up with the time we planned for so it's a bit of a boost for FLM comfortable pace all the way around, fantastic running day as it had PB written all over it. SimonF Part of Blackpool Marathon training*******Official time - took about 25 secs to get over the start line. Sorry all that bet on me. Started struggling at the same point (approx 8 miles) as 2 years ago when I last did it, thought I'd got over my cold, but that may have been the reason. Back to the roads for the last 4 weeks of marathon training - still very hopeful of a pb there. Cumberland Fell Runners, Horsforth Fellandale Club 1:28:40 1:31:31 1:28:39 1:31:31 66.37
Sk8tergirl First half - aiming for sub 2h UPDATE Just managed sub 2h yay! Really pleased, especially since it took over 2 mins to get to start line. Brilliant race, really enjoyed it, will definitely be back next year, although day marred somewhat by hearing that one of my my clubmates, whom I ran with till 10m, broke her leg and had to be picked up by ambulance at 12m :-( Manchester Harriers & AC 1:47:19 1:56:44 1:59:59 1:59:25 55.46

Swimming Is Easier phew - glad I got through that one!! It was boiling hot and I wore far too many clothes!!! I have to admit to really struggling, but I'm really pleased that I beat my PB by 7 minutes... maybe sub 2 hours was a little bit ambitious, but next time. What a friendly race, thank you to everyone who offered words of encouragement. XB - sorry I wasn't too chatty when we were running together - I was going through a bit of a bad patch!!!
Who ever told me that Wilmslow was flat was wrong...

XB That'll do for me. I honestly thought it'd be a long time before I could get under 2 hours again. But all it takes is Immodium, Ibuprofen and steady relaxed plodding. Great course past some humongously impressive houses. Great support - it's always nice to see the locals out instead of tutting about not being able to get to the garden centre.
