Hi ,
It looks like you're using an ad blocker.

The revenue generated from the adverts on the site is a critical part of our funding - and it's because of these ads that I can offer the site for free. But using the site for free AND blocking the ads doesn't feel like a great thing to do, which is why this box is so large and inconvenient. Some sites will completely block your access, but I'm not doing that - I'm appealing to your good nature instead. Did you know that you can allow ads for specific sites, whilst still blocking them on others?

Thanks,
Ian Williams aka Fetch

"Awsome" was the single word that I came up with to sum up this race at the finish.
Dave A
6th place. Massive PB. Very happy :)
kstuart
second part of the district double after white peaks the day before
Forest Faerie
Running this with fragrant oldbiddy who is currently experimenting with 3 day miling so a PB is not on the cards. We will be ambling around shouting abuse at fit young men dressed in lycra on bikes no doubt, oh and my hair will be pink :-)
flanker
After going for and getting the 3:55 PB the previous day, the legs were just too tired to repeat it.
Lisrun
Second part of District Double - will I be able to run ???? *Update* Went much better then I expected. Last few miles were actually enjoyable - unlike last year. Great to see so many Fetchies ! :-)
Velociraptor
Hoping to have PB'd at White Peak the day before. This one's for fun :o)
UPDATE
And fun was had! Wonderful event. Even better than last year. Smooth organisation, a smiling Westmorland Freemason every few metres, plenty of water and SIS sports drink, and the most gorgeous, scenic, undulating (in a Cumbrian way) course. I can understand why people want to run it ten days in a row :oP
Marcus
Wow, what a fantastic day! I was so pleased with my race, and the support around the course, especially my own supporters' club who were just fantastic - but everything pales into insignificance compared to the 10 in 10 people who are all heroes in my book. Another truly enjoyable Windermere Marathon - congratulations Brathay.
ThorntonRunner
Aiming for 3:15 - but hills might do for that. Will be disappointed if I don't beat my Leicester time, so hopeful of pb.
UPDATE: Ecstatic - went exactly to the "ideal" plan. First half 1:35, second half 1:36. Was waiting for the wheels to fall off and they never did - still doing 7:15's in mile 25 and 26:).
Rosielad
My first full seeing that did not get FLM. Hoping for under 4.40.*UPDATE* Hotel booked, thats it, I'm on my way. Look forward to seeing you all there. **UPDATE** Great race and loved every minute of my first marathon. Thanks BooBoo

Yikes!
That prediction was done fairly early on methinks. By the time race day came along I would have been happy with 5½ hours.
Major disaster when I realised I'd left my bottle belt with my go bar, lucozade tablets and jelly beans in the B&B. Chris was temporarily promoted to 'best boyfried ever' status as he ran back to get it for me.
Legs didnt really want to carry on after 22 miles. Must've been that big hill! 26th mile took forever as I'd definitely ran out of steam by then. After 22 miles I had to refuel (probably pointlessly by then) as any attempt to maintain speed meant a distinct probability of throwing up! Sheer pain after that and I'd been doing so well and so consistently up to that point.
Roobarb
DEFINITELY NO BETS!!!!! Going to do this one to support Shades as this is the last race of the 10 in 10.
Joe Hawk
2nd part of the District Double , hopefully slightly faster than the first. It did n't happen quite as planned but still really happy as I finished feeling fine and have been running again this week.
plodding hippo
bloody hard
UltraDunc
Next year definite
IanRunner
First marathon and from what I've heard probably not the easiest. Really looking forward to it though.
Fell o runner
First Marathon, loved it ! But found the last 6 miles hard...
Janie Tri
Stuffed my knee up badly on this one!!!
blacknail chris
