Brilliant run, the event as always was well organised and the atmosphere at the start of the race was brill. thought i might make it a sub 3hrs 30 mins but the last few miles were very tough! IM VERY HAPPY and cried at the finish line when i saw all my family !
Very pleased with my first marathon. Thought at half way that it was going OK but didn't know what to expect. Apart from a couple of dips in my energy levels and some extra long miles near the end, I still managed a sprint finish. Wish I could walk properly now though.
Training fell well short of the plan, but due to an enforced walk break between 15 and 16.5 miles (popped my ankle while stretching a tight calf), I ran most of the last 6 miles (which I've never done in a marathon before). I can now picture myself one day running the whole way in a marathon, which up to now I've had trouble getting my head around.

Fab race - a must do for any marathoner.
Really well organised, friendly marathon. Perfect day for running and a 29 minute PB.
The scenery is beautiful, the weather held with only a little drizzle towards Inverness. Some very supportive and friendly people met along the route. The only thing that let me down was my right hip injury. So glad I managed just under the 5 hrs. Will do better next year, must get hip fixed.
