jazz Disappointed with my time as over 30 seconds slower than last year. Went off far too fast hitting 1st mile marker in under 6 mins, felt OK then so tried to keep the pace going but started to struggle and found miles 3 - 5 tough. Quite a few people started to get past me. Only consolation is that I was 3rd woman so got a prize, was 5th last year and time was faster! A few of the faster women must have stayed away. Will have to try and pace myself better for next 10K distance!! Tynedale Harriers & AC 41:25 44:03 44:03 71.30
Jenson I did run it...but forgot my watch. Again. Lovely route. Found parts of it hard work (maybe a race with km markers is ok without a watch but in between miles is quite a long stretch not having a clue ha!) but was still passing people all way through second half. Maybe should start off nearer the front?!
Anyhoo. School Report says: Good but could do better. esk vally fell club 48:21 51:42 51:42 60.61
Lisrun Flat apparently so should be fast. *After* What a lovely route ! Followed the River Tyne to Wylam Bridge, crossed the river and then back to Newburn Bridge and back to the start, about 6.6m. Lovely summer evening, not too hot. Food afterwards ! Pleased with my time 100 Marathon Club, North East Marathon Club 49:15 51:39 50:00 51:39 63.57

RununMan Nice course and evening, a bit warm!! Plan was to even pace and aim for Sub40, pacing far better and I ran a good race (at last). Just didn't have the speed in legs to keep going at Sub40 pace, so tried to keep it nice and steady. Finished quite strong and went past 5 runners in the last half mile. Happy with 41mins, not happy that I missed out on 3rd V40 by only 2 seconds!! Birtley AC 38:12 41:00 40:00 41:00 71.20
Vicki: Graceless Whippet I had an almost perfect race. Pace management was spot on and consistant throughout, though I got to 5 miles in 36 mins exactly, so I musta been slow by around 10sec/mile. I managed to finish one place before my hero Jo, who's in his 70s. He normally comes streaming past me halfway through the race, looking like he's out for a stroll.

Somehow though I managed to finish slower than last year - not really sure how tbh. Except I know I dashed off too quick at the start of last years race and fell apart at 5 miles (maybe I'd gained enough time in the first three miles to compensate for my naff performance later).

Anyways, despite not getting a pb (and we can't get them every time eh!) I had a really good race. Free food is always welcome afterwards too! Newburn is a lovely scenic course, it was warm, but not too bad in the shade. Jarrow & Hebburn AC 46:59 48:50 47:40 48:50 64.72
