eMpTy Could be tough as will have lots of miles in the legs. UPDATE: Well not sure where that came from, hilly 2 lap course so you knew exactly what to expect. Slow 4th mile (7.20) but picked pace in 5th (6.22) to recover the damage. Denmead Striders 33:33 33:51 34:30 33:51 70.28
Fastest_Dave Not sure on outcome of time as was not paying much attention at the finish line and had a bottle of water open before I thought to stop the watch. More of a tempo run than a race for me today as have a busy week ahead with a 10k on Wed and bristol next Sunday. 85% HR for 4 1/2 miles then opened the legs for the last half mile. Heavyweight A first outing for my Fetch shirt that arrived this morning ...yay. After much umming and ahhing both daughter & I did the 5 miles. I thought we would be able to have a pleasant father-daughter chat whilst jogging round - but as she was fully ipodded up the conversation was slightly one-sided, with just the the odd shrug/blank look being returned. Heavyweight minor found the initial up-hill quite tough and we settled into a 10 minute run 1 minute walk type schedule that we maintained throughout. It was a bit of a shock to be lapped (at around 24 minutes) very close to the end of the first lap, I think 2 or maybe 3 runners went past. I checked with HWm that we we on for the 2nd lap - got a 'duuh' in reply which I took for a yes. It is a fine line between encouraging & bullying and I hope I stayed the right side of it as I cajoled her round the 2nd lap and was rewarded by a smile & a semi-sprint finish at the end which she won by a short-head. Very impressed by the turnout both of the competitors & spectators - was a lovely friendly family type event, with a nice glass mug as a memento. Was good to chat to RFJ at the start. RFJ Still finding my way back, so wont be too fast, ha, OK not as fast as my PB, but I suprised myself a bit today...

RFJ jnr decided not to do the 1st lap fun run and stayed at home, this allowed me a bit of freedom in a way, to race as I wanted too, that was to go out consertitively and hold the pace, which I managed to do, even with the big hill on each lap, made up for the big downhill each lap.......

1m - 7:23 - Ok start and a small hill, mile marker then 1/2 way up big hill.
2m - 7:08 - So part up hill, but mostly down.
3m - 7:14 - Along the bottom of the course with the one small hill near the start at 2.5m
4m - 7:46 - All hill this time and hard work
5m - 6:43 - Down hill all the way as you can see.....
