Yano An excellent new race for 2007 in Bishopbriggs near Glasgow. Starts on road for 1-2k but then mainly canal paths. Unfortunately there had been a lot of rain in lead up to race so lots of puddles and mud to negotiate. Overall quite flat but one nasty wee climb. Was hoping to get close to 40mins. Went through 5k in about 19.30-19.45 - big hill between 7k and 8k killed my momentum. 2ks of 4.15/4.20 cost me the sub-40. Last k along canal was very slippy so difficult to maintain any decent speed. Garmin Forerunner GPS clocked 300yds more than 10k! (as did kyts) Anyone else think this was longer than 10k? All in all a good race, well organised and a fine goody bag. 15th out of 87 Unaffiliated 39:32 39:32 39:59 40:28 65.62
