Baza Never done this one before, but heard good things about it. Had a few too many rest days over the last 2 weeks so we'll just have to see how things go. *UPDATE* Blimey, better than expected given the conditions. Started middle of the pack to accertain fitness and route as this was a new race to me. After the 1st K, I new what was in store - it was basically the same route as the Glasgow Uni 5mile race, all bar the start/finish. Picked up the pace about 3 K and went through 5k in 19:13. Spied Gueiseppe at 8K but he was just to far in front. Pleased with the 1st run of the year. Well done all the organisers and marshals on your work on such a cr*p day. bedlam_g Horrible horizontal sleety rain and strength sapping hills. Got to 5k in 19.24 then chucked it for a bit, but thankfully managed to get going again for the last 2k. Well done to rleyton on his huge PB. Bellahouston Road Runners, Cumbernauld AAC, Kilmarnock Harriers & AC, Scottish Veteran Harriers Club 34:01 35:17 39:11 68.27

ChrisU Here's the 10k race route. I'd be happy to get close to 35 minutes, since the course has a couple of hills and sharp turns. POST RACE > missed 35 minutes by 17 seconds. Cambuslang Harriers, Westerlands Cross Country Club, Scottish Veteran Harriers Club 34:38 34:40 34:59 35:17 80.14

ian9657 This might be one of Scotland's oldest races but it's a new one for me. Don't really fancy the loop thing but looking forward to running in the home of my dear old ma. UPDATE: Struggled after the first 3k today in very wet and cold conditions. 3rd race in 11 days, I struggled badly with the hills. Soaked to the skin and absolutely shattered at the end. rleyton Good grief, what happened! 03:44 off my Personal Best, on an undulating course in wet and windy weather. I'm absolutely delighted, and had a great time. No prize in the raffle, but the shiny PB was it's own reward. Hope some of the fetchies who bet on me are pleased too. Bring on the flatter Jack Crawford 10k next weekend! :-) Bellahouston Road Runners 43:47 45:01 47:00 46:09 57.54
Ticketyboo Struggled right from the start today in very wet and cold conditions. 4th race in 11 days was just one too many. Soaked to the skin at the end, however, did get a spot prize of a towel. (Finishing position 41 out of 250).

Vic Mason Very surprised @ getting a PB especially on a very tough, hilly, twisty course on one of the windiest and wettest days of the year. A well organised race. a great goody bag and chuffed to bits on the new PB Kirkintilloch Olympians 35:15 37:29 40:26 40:16 69.67
