eMpTy Running with Empty 2, his second 10k - 51mins on debut so hopefully a bit faster this time.
Update : Slight breeze but pleasant evening for racing. Empty 2 again showed that if he'd train as a runner and not footballer he'd be miles in front of me even at 16 !! Denmead Striders 42:06 42:34 48:00 44:17 67.09
GAZGIB As it was chipped I started towards the back to stop me going off too fast and also because I hadn't felt great all day. Soon found myself bounding along well and it was nice to overtake people for once. Got a stitch at 7.5 which never went and I always struggle on the incline at 9km but was plesaed with my time overall. Bracknell Forest Runners 42:54 47:26 50:00 47:28 56.36
Gobi Expect to run between last years Yateley PB and my Woodley PB run this year. This is just a benchmark for the other two races in the series. I will be running hard but my focus is my 5km race at the end of the month so there has been no let up in my hard training sessions.

Quite surprised
17.40
17.29 (inside 5km PB)
28.11 at 8km another PB
I am quite sure now that I can run sub 35 :¬)

johntz I'm well chuffed with that.... I was confident I would set a new PB, just didn't expect how fast it worked out in the end (took 5 minutes off). Started hard, and felt pretty tired by 8km. Managed to keep going till the end, and there was even a little bit left for the customary sprint... It's good to be a novice!

Jonny I will race & give it my all, but, the shin pain has unfortunately returned once again. My target will be to beat 41 mins. This would be a slight improvement (min/mile) on my recent 5 mile effort.
Started off on 4min/km pace but slowed up to about 4.20 by the 3rd or 4th km. The good news is that my shin didn't hurt, however, my calf muscle that is the cause started to tighten & became quite painful with 2 km to go. A little disappointed with the time but it will act as a target to reduce over the summer 10k's. Will set 2 goals for this series (beat 41 mins or 40mins depending on how my shin is over the next couple of months). Unaffiliated 38:55 42:37 40:59 42:37 62.04
Konaboy Started well until 4K where I picked up a stitch & got overtaken by a lot of guys I had passed earlier. Struggled over the next 4K till the turn off the main road/sponge station where I felt re-energised. Felt stronger until the line. Well organised & looking forward to July's race & a better time. Rach E Hope to go under 38 mins again for consistency! ***UPDATE*** Sub-38 not on tonight. I tagged on the back of a guy who I knew was pacing the senior lady winner from last year's series and I was fine until 7km when I suddenly fatigued and just dropped off the pace. I won't say I'm not disappointed BUT what can I expect when I'm racing on such tired legs??? Yateley is hillier than I expected but it has a nice fast 0.5km down to the finish. Splits: 3:33; 3:56 (uphill); 3:59 (uphill); 3:27 (largely downhill); 7:34 (5&6 - missed 5km marker); 3:40; 4:17 (yes, I died badly); 4:08; 3:54 (uphill first 0.5km, downhill second 0.5km). Still, the good news is I was 3rd senior lady and won a Sweatshop voucher :-) Sorry to anyone who bet on me. Aldershot, Farnham & District AC, Team Kennet, Newbury Velo 36:58 37:55 37:59 38:31 77.22

topcorner Wasn't expecting much as my training wasn't quite what it should have been... Still - if my Garmin is anything to go by I think I PBd by eight seconds! I can't remember the course being that hard last year. Had fun even though I managed to choke on my cup of water at one point.

Nice to see Rach E, Em and Gobi too. Sandhurst Joggers 50:50 52:35 56:00 52:47 50.02
