The Juicer I had a grand day out at Cader Idris yesterday. I ran with my friend Prue, and we'd agreed to stick together whatever. We knew we would hold each other up alternately (I'm quicker at UP, she's quicker at DOWN), but we just wanted to have a good day. We really pushed for the checkpoint we'd been worried about (the 1hr 15 cut off), and were dead chuffed to get there in 1.01. We took it a bit easier after that though, and had to keep stopping to get out of the way of the crazy descenders who were on their way back by now! We got to the top in 1.40. And then a pleasing run down, stopping to chat to marshalls who said there were still 5 behind us. Our final finishing time was 2.53 (a bit slower than I'd hoped), and by now there were only 2 coming in after us (the others must have retired). And one of them was a 73 year old!! But what the heck, we had a super day out - the other runners were so friendly, shouting words of encouragement as they passed us on the way down. I reckon if we'd ran it seperately, we'd have been about 10 or so minutes quicker. Todmorden Harriers & AC 2:53:05 2:53:05 2:40:00 2:53:05 30.50
