emmilou Under LOADS of pressure to sub 50 today, BUT it was my first EVER road race/10k. Pooping myself this morning all these fit sprighly ladies bouncing around doing warm ups and I spent the time chewing my nails and looking for the loos!! Was hoping to get back within the hour and it was a baking hot day, there were no water stations and I was flagging and desperate for a drink about 4 miles in due to the heat really. Pretty undulating course although alot was off road to be honest! Some hills to and a real sting in the tail at the end. Played cat and mouse with a bloke all the way round and managed to beat him with a sprint finish. I'm SO THRILLED with this time and can't believe out of a really good field I came 14th lady! I'm the cat that got the cream - onwards and upwards!! :-) Lostock AC 45:54 45:54 59:00 47:27 63.32
