Hi ,
It looks like you're using an ad blocker.

The revenue generated from the adverts on the site is a critical part of our funding - and it's because of these ads that I can offer the site for free. But using the site for free AND blocking the ads doesn't feel like a great thing to do, which is why this box is so large and inconvenient. Some sites will completely block your access, but I'm not doing that - I'm appealing to your good nature instead. Did you know that you can allow ads for specific sites, whilst still blocking them on others?

Hope to beat my time from last year(63m 41sec) and maybe even my PB but dont know if i will. Looks like it may be a warm day but at least there is going to be a follwing wind not like last year. UPDATE!!! Beat last years time by 1m 18sec but disapointed as the conditions for a fast time were perfect. It clouded over before the race with a nice gentle breeze helping on most of the course. I just didnt feel right from the start, legs felt heavy and no power in muscles when i wanted it. Finished 42nd in a what seemed a big field.
Not a pb course for me, but its very attractive countryside. Hope to get under 80 minutes which will be my fastest time for this course. *Update* Very pleased to get under 80m for the first time on this course. Weather was much cooler than in the previous three years which helped, but I did a tough race yesterday, so I am very happy. Again roads closed and they moved to two drinks stations this year which was a good idea. Food to all finishers. This is a good race passing through attractive countryside.
Okay, assuming i'm in good shape, i will go for as close to 60min as possible. This will probably mean a slow death from about the 8mile mark ... but what the heck, nothing ventured!! UPDATE; Major goal achieved today!! Well pleased with time and the race, Tyne Valley is a great place to run. Did not take in as much scenery as i would have liked, as it was tough going at times. Well organised by Tynedale - will look forward to this one next year.
Miss Sweden
Did this a few years ago and really struggled (I had a heavy cold at the time) Can't remember what time I did. Am aiming for 1hr 40, which is just slightly faster than my marathon pace. i really need to work on my pacing as I keep failing to hit it right!

Ok, so I did way better than I thought I would. Well chuffed with this. I really didn't think I could run this fast after doing so much slow running for the marathon. This has been a real confidence builder.
great race had been having trouble with knee, but managed ok. totally enjoyed race will def be back next year
