Training has been good but you always think you could have done more (and drunk less). Update - finally made it to the promised land of sub 45. It feels good but I want the holy of holies (sub 43). The race started with a nice gentle downhill and I got off to a good one with Phantom tucked in behind. Got a bit of a shock when he said we were through the first kilo in 3.50! and the first mile in 6.07. Settled down after that and ran 7.04, 7.20 (a 5k pb by 40 secs), 7.17, 7.28 (5 miles in 35.19 pb), 7.23 and 2.11 for the last bit. Smirring rain and cool temperature with no wind made for a pb course and that's what happened. The hill in the last kilo was on rough trail and was a bit of a killer. Even after the hill ended it was a slow grind to the finish. Onwards and upwards. It's a pb by 1.30. I've got to be delighted.

Felt very positive before and during the race which I think helped me put in a PB time. The weather conditions were ideal for me. Temp 14 degree and overcast with a very little breeze.
watch time so may have to give or take a second either way. Happy with race and felt strong throughout. Nice to see they had changed the course from 2 years ago to a true 10k distance. Great course for fast times although that hill at the end saps the legs a bit!!...well done to 'may' for beating her 8 year old PB and for 3rd ladies spot.
Approx time. Nice conditions for racing today....little wind and cool temperature. A potentially fast course for the most part, long stretch of down hill for part of the way out and no really steep bits until almost the very end. Recurrent piriformis injury didn't bother me during the race, was a good idea to take 4 days off leading upto the race.
Watch time 46 dead but I think the official clock hadn't quite ticked over. Either way very happy with that time. Official time 46:01 :-(
Ambitious prediction, but that's the time I want. Not injured this time, can run 7.40mm's for 5 miles, so it's up to me to get it. **UPDATE** Disappointed not to get sub 48. Garmin time logged just now. Should've tried harder, especially on the climb to the finish. I am very happy with the PB though and enjoyed the race. Will do it again next year.
Looking for a fast time on this course, feeling in good shape...so shall see what happens!!!: )...Update..Started off steady and maintained pace felt good throughout race..steady running pretty effortless, happy with run as finally managed to get a much awaited PB for this distance..good encouragement from" Magoo"which was a big help..3rd lady...back on course for the Grand Prix; )
Really worked for this one. Own fault due to hangover! The hill at the end is still tough. As always a really well run event.
still looking to break the 40 mins hopefully tommorow will be the day
Far too much to drink last night, no pb here. Update...was right, sick at 9k...very own fault, wont do that again! Finished 297 out of 495, mid race mediocrity........
Sunbed Athlete
Good course but tricky last half k uphill then around the Gas buildings.Well marshalled & organised.Got 4th place & 17 pts for the Grand Prix.
Alf Tupper Tough of the Track
Very enjoyable race in ideal conditions. Bit disappointed with my time; slightly off pace throughout and the climb up the ramp at 8k put paid to any PB hopes.
PW time - what a shocker
