10 seconds quicker than last year, but had hoped for more. Very hot (as usual here) and little breeze. Nice course (undulating but not too hilly) and quick finish mile, but it was really about dealing with the heat. Finally a decent turn out for out mens' team, so we may start to climb out of the relegation spots! Stilton Striders RC 38:15 38:15 40:50 62.35

ThorntonRunner Splits of 6:22, 6:46, 6:26, 7:03, 7:07, 6:11. A PB, so pleased with that - esp. for those of you who bet on me! Slower than I'd hoped, but it was HOT! Will have a better idea of whether I'm satisfied with that once I've seen the official results and got my placing. Ran it as a training run last week. Today I ran the first three miles 1.5 minutes faster than last week, and the second half exactly the same - so I either went out too quick, or I think more likely, the heat slowed me in the second half. way2slow first race since flm. was extremely hot so thought i was gonna struggle big time on this one. did have to walk at one point (around 4 1/2 miles as i thought my legs were gonna fall off) but rallied well for the last mile (downhill - always good when you're tired). fantastic course - scenery was beautiful and marshalls were all very encouraging. Looking forward to trying out the socks! Unaffiliated 49:13 49:13 50:00 49:13 59.32
