This event is listed on these dates:

just coming back from injury so hopefully won't have to go too slowly
horribly congested and rubbish start control- lots of late comers jumping over the fence
First race for this year. It's always so crowded and I usually completely bugger up my food intake in the evening...eat too early then run out of steam. Gotta start working on that as I have a late race the following week too.

Got the eating all right, energy drink provided gave me heartburn...so rather uncomfortable at the start of the race!!!
Since I virtually walked this last year as I was injured I think I may just bet on myself this year.

Well what pressure having 7,199 Fetchie points on my back was. I always remeber this being a congested run but never as bad as last night. Maybe I was just too far back from the start this time as it took me nearly 7 minutes to cross the line. So you can stick the officail time as I am not going to log that! Anyway Garmin sain 29-15 but realised when I got home and downloaded the data that it was actually 29-33 as I have my Garmin programed to stop when I am stopped/walking and there was a fair bit of that on the way round. So 29-33 it is which is stragely exactly the same pace I ran my Xcountry Club handicap race the night before over virtually the same distance.
was injured last year, so hoping for a much better time..... and achieved it! 27:34 - a huge PB (ok so I didn't hit the target of 27 minutes - what can I say? It was a hot day). Seriously, very happy with the time as the crowds make this a tough one.
Michael C
went well for the first 3k (9:45) then ran out of steam with a poor last mile.
The Croc
Not very successful, started too far back so needed to try and push through all the way. Minute an a half slower than last year :(
really enjoyed this as was my first race! could have probably gone out a bit faster but was difficult due to crowds and it was also quite hot!
Got a bit closer to the start line than in previous years so it only took me 32 seconds to reach the clock.
Had an excellent run considering I have only been back training for 4 weeks after a 4 month lay off.
Once again the social events after the race were superb. Free food and beer, and a really good coolmax running top too. What more could you ask for!
Still suffering with hamstrings so ran/walked round with Claire from work.
First proper effort at a shorter distance. Crowding at the start was immense!
Running Beer
Better than the year before but still didn't do enough long training before. Ran walked like last year.
