TomM Weather was very hot again. I wish they wouldn't start this at the hottest part of the day. Good pace up to half way, then struggled especially on the hills. Rained on final mile down Long Walk. Disappointing time. Stubbington Green Runners 1:58:38 2:22:26 2:22:26 46.84
mava Killer hills on this course and very hot and sunny. The first mile nearly did for me and I had problems with my head the whole way round. Had big problems with the second lap and was walking up all the hills. The last mile to the finish was done in 9.23 though! Sevenoaks AC 2:10:55 2:10:55 2:19:08 48.51

Yazoo Pretty tough run with the hills and the sun. Despite the fact I run there every week, there were a couple of hills even I didn't know about! Slower than I was hoping but then again I had run a marathon PB 2 weeks earlier... Runnymede Runners 1:17:55 1:22:05 1:26:50 66.78
GAZGIB Shouldn't really have run as was ill with a cold, but didn't want to miss one of my favourite races. Decided to cross the start line in last place and see how many people I could overtake. It made a nice change not to be pushing myself and I really enjoyed it. Bracknell Forest Runners 1:35:38 1:37:41 1:53:09 51.39

Musical Journey Beautiful day, shame about the hills! I guess my lack of preparation was shamefully exposed. I was optimisitc before this race of at least matching my previous best of 1hr 38m but soon realised that them darn hills would put paid to that. I nearly quit at the 5 mile mark, such was the pain I was feeling, but managed to persevere to my credit. I wont be doing this one again, especially after the 1 hour fiasco to just get out of the car park! Unaffiliated 1:38:56 2:03:00 1:40:00 2:03:00 47.39
Waveydavey This was my 50th half and a PB. The other 49 were BF (Before Fetch) and therefore don't count, even though 42 of them were faster! I haven't run a half for a year and a half and had a tough race the day before so wasn't expecting great things, but I was disappointed not to beat (or even get close to!) 100 mins. It all went pear-shaped at 10 miles and I was just glad to finish. I managed a bit of a sprint right at the end to keep under 105 mins so maybe some of it was psychologcal - but the blisters are very real. :-/ Reading Roadrunners 1:34:53 1:41:32 1:40:00 1:44:29 56.84
Hollywoof! Hot sunny day (23 degrees C?)
Hilly course (undulating?!)
Started well and in control...
Doing really well up to 11 miles.
But finished somewhat in slower style...
Just need more long endurance runs in training!

Hope all the ambulance cases are OK. Unaffiliated 1:33:30 1:41:24 1:40:00 1:41:24 57.24

Kieren Didn't train, didn't eat dinner the night before or breakfast in the morning, forgot my water bottle & watch & felt like I was going to die at mile 6. Not having a watch was actually a bonus - just ran according to how I felt & asked people for the time at mile markers & would generally pace with them for a bit - a lot more socialble.

Great course quite flat compared to the other 2 I have run (Wycombe & Burnham Beeches). Very happy at getting sub-2 :-)

Back in training once my legs stop aching. Goin gto be unrealistic & aim for sub 1:35 next year - aim for the heavens & be happy if I reach the sky Serpentine RC, Ealing Eagles Running Club 1:31:11 1:51:18 2:00:00 1:55:18 50.28

Ghengis What a killer, I missed the start as the taxi I booked never turned up, so with 10 minutes to go I had to run from the train station to the start in a full Gorilla suit.
Luckily for me there were still people crossing the start line when I got there.
The support from the Crowd was brilliant and so was the support form my fellow runners they were the only things that kept me going when legs gave up.

Lorraine Kept to a steady pace and felt great. Then at miles 9 and 11 I felt dreadfull.Slowed myself down and sorted myself out.On the whole peased especially as I only did a couple of weeks of real trainning.Great atmosphere. Unaffiliated 1:56:12 2:17:23 2:10:00 2:17:23 47.96
Cavey Horrendous!!!!!!!

I totally screwed up the race. I set out far too quickly on a very hot day, and by mile 8 i was completely dehydrated and had no energy left at all.

Won't be making the same mistaked in 3 weeks in Amsterdam! Handsworth Roadhogs RC 1:37:46 2:14:23 2:15:00 2:26:45 39.51
fraggle That was a toughie. I got my fuel strategy completely wrong (thrown by the 1pm start) and lost my energy gel within the first mile; and that combined witht he hot and sunny weather meant that I felt like I was running on empty the whole way round. Oh and the hills didn't help either :0) left hamstring felt tight from 7 miles onwards, so must look after it befoer the GSR in 3 weeks.

A minute slower than my pb from Reading in March, but on a much hotter day, and a much tougher course, so I'm quite pleased.

More of a Tortoise Really suffered with the heat - didn't expect it when I entered months ago - and also got blisters even though I'd done over 60 miles in my shoes before the race.

Enjoyed meeting loads of RW forumites though and will probably go back next year to support but not sure I'll be keeping this on the race calendar. Witney Road Runners 2:51:12 3:20:00 3:00:00 3:20:00 32.25
