connelld Started well until I reached the hill. Slowed down badly but kept at it and didn't lose any places. Last 5k were a lot easier although I struggled with stamina on last 3k's. I'm not convinced the km markers were correct (1k was 3:02, another 4:49) Kilmarnock Harriers & AC, Scottish Veteran Harriers Club 35:24 38:32 39:32 67.39

RichyC Always look forward to Stranraer 10k and the 1/2 in the summer as it's a return to my hometown and a chance to see friends and family. Have never properly raced the 10k before so planning to give it a good go this year. It's quite a testing course with one main tough hill but decent downhill too so getting sub 40 might be possible if my legs hold out after Jedburgh 1/2 last weekend. UPDATE: Happy enough to get under 40mins albeit only by a fraction. Tough 1st half of course combined with it being my 3rd race in as many weeks seemed to take it's toll as I didn't have much left in the tank towards the finish. Stuck with a group of 5 or 6 others until about half way and then didn't have the legs to carry me through with them, also passed by 2folk over the last 3k and couldn't respond. Good event though and excellent organisation as usual. Unaffiliated 35:48 39:15 39:55 66.14
Roadrunner Bark I collected the 1ST Local title again, this time for the Unaffiliated 34:22 37:05 38:04 69.35
Sunbed Athlete Got 4th place this time round.Been 2nd the last 2 years running but a better quality of field @ the sharp point of the race turned out.Went thru halfway in 16:34.Felt better all round after last weeks horrendous outing to Jedburgh.Going to take it easy now & target a Xmas comeback.Give the tank a much needed rest.A excellent & well organisied race.Thumbs up to Karen Brownlie for the organisation for this race & the Half Marathon.
