BigChiefRunningBore And finishing looking slightly mental is..2687...That was me. Great run to 20 in 2:31 then legs said no f***ing way are we going to run 6 miles up the Greenway (ha it's white and all gravel no traction) OMG it was soooo tedious. One hightlight at ..er..24 was piece of apple from Fetch support best thing I had tasted for ages. at end was totally disorienated just had no legs to push to sub 3:30. Poss suffered for early sun. glad I wore factor 25! Worst value race ever, by a long 26.2 miles. Fair play the folks in S-U-Avon were great. Fenrunner Sub 3:30 with seven seconds to spare!! Didn't think I was going to make it as the last five miles on the greenway was physically and mentally tiring. Put a spurt on alongside the river and seeing my wife made me determined to do it. Wasn't going to let all that training go to waste by missing out on sub3:30 by a ouple of seconds. Lovely race - back for more next year, won't bother with that big fun run in London! Ely Runners 3:15:44 3:29:53 3:30:00 3:29:53 58.44

Gogeroo NOTE TO SELF- Train Properly next time i didnt do any proper long runs 15 miles a week before reading 1/2 just doeasnt cut the mustard!!! Managed to drag myself round, however struggled from 20 miles in (6.2 miles 1hr 30mins!!)
Still, an enjoyable race, well organised and executed.

Jigs Sub 3.30 is the schedule I'm training to, so I guess I should make it !

UPDATE:
Ok! Didn't get under 3.30, but it doesn't really matter that much! Ran a careful, sensible 1st marathon and got a decent time around what I trained for :)

As prepared as I'd ever be, a little worried about holding pace over such a distance, but I was fine. Planned 8m/m all the way and more or less stuck to it. Tagged along with some guys from Tenby doing my pace, so stuck with them from about mile 4 or 5, all the way to mile 23 where one had slowed and we were 2 mins off target. I new I had to up the pace over the if I was to make my goal time, and I was feeling remarkably good. Kept pace up until reaching riverside gardens where the finish was, where I increased again. Checked where finish line was, so I didn't peak too soon, but sprinted the final straight (or what I call sprinting after 26 miles)
Great result for my debut marathon, When is the next one ?? :) Unaffiliated 2:46:27 3:08:09 3:29:59 3:30:18 59.21

Northern Exile This was only my second marathon and despite getting all the training in, it all went wrong on the day! We stayed in the worst guest house in Stratford-upon-Avon (well, I thought so) and so didn't really sleep well, then on the day it was really warm and by mile 14 I was already getting the first signs of cramp and so spent the next 12 miles trying to manage that, it was really frustrating, although not as bad as the Experian Robin Hood last year. Really disappointed not to come in under 4 hours, I don't know what to do about this cramping .... I've tried more or less everything. Perhaps I should consider my next marathon (will there be a next?) later in the year when it's cooler. Settle Harriers, North Leeds Fell Runners 3:46:10 4:09:56 3:45:00 4:09:56 52.24

SteveT LSRs have gone pretty well would have liked to have done a couple more, but should be OK. A PB should be certain, its just a case of how much and as long as I get GFA for FLM next year I'll be happy.
